My cat has wipe its arse over my rug

Got back from work to discover the cat has wiped a poo that wouldn't 'detach' all over my wool rug. Gross.

Have seen the cat do it a couple of times before, but not on the rug.

Does anyone know how to stop it? Perhaps she is constipated?

My cat once swallowed a short length of string and when it came out the other end it was embedded in a little ball of poop. It looked like a Christmas bauble dangling out of her derriere. I had to don rubber gloves and pull it -- the cat was not amused, fought me off valiantly...

Math - I just got some worming stuff from the vet the other day, haven't used it yet though. Will do now. Thanks.

Our cat used to do that when her anal glands needed squeezing (don't ask....lets just say its a job for a vet and even they hate doing it!)

We are off on holiday tomorrow, and a friend's daughter is coming every day to feed them. It was horrific enough that I had to clean it up, heaven help the poor child if she comes across it. Do you think I should warn her, or will she run for the hills?

Our did that we had to have her glands operated on.

she trailed her poo bead necklace all round the house, ending up on our bed, of course, where DH wrangled her and i donned the marigolds

Mine are semi, and if they get some poo attached or they get constipated I end up seeing the bum drag.

Now the cold weather is here my cat refuses to go outside to poo.

Alas, we found out only days later when I picked up my wool bag and it was soaked in pee and several balls of wool had nice poops all over them. I had to pull each one out (there were about 15!!!) and sniff it. Then DH and I crawled over the carpet sniffing to find where she'd left her special rinse.

It's the guest room which we do not go into much, so the poo had had plenty of time to marinate before we discovered it.

The door is now firmly shut!

And, as a precaution, the lid is on the laundry bin.

My little cat cured the DCs of their bad habit of leaving clothes on the floor by her own bad habit of peeing copiously on the smallest item of clothing, hair elastic, etc..

This reminds me, my dog ate some grass earlier. It didn't digest and I had to pull it from his bum, poo and all. :(

Yes, I have also had to pull grass from my other cat's bum in the past. I have had cats all my life and have never had to tend to previous cats' bottoms, ever.

These two however, seem to need a bit of help. They are mum and kitten, so maybe genetic predisposition to manky bums.

This is why I don't have pets, all the above stories blugh how grim!
