Hurrah! Success!

We adopted a 14 week old kitten at the end of July. He had been mistreated (along with his brothers) by their previous owners, he rarely came to you for affection and ran away from the kids. He has a broken purr, all distorted as if he were having an asthma attack.

Today he climbed onto my knee, gave a little sigh and purred, and had a kip

That's so lovely. The purr is mended.

My rescue cat hid behind the sofa for 3 weeks then one cold evening he crept out and came to sit beside me. Next night onto my lap while I scarcely dared breathe. Oh, isn't it a lovely feeling, op?

His purr still sounds weird, but not as bad as when we first got him. He slept near Dh's head last night as well, something our other cat does so he is now huffed.

He'll find his voice properly and never stop again it's worth it.
