Following on from here

She has a little brown gunk around her eyes this am. Antibiotic eye cream time ?

I am tired, but so relieved that (so far) she has made it.

It may have to be video.

She is very wriggley.

DS buggered off to youthclub the second he finished "his first day back" homework, so I have tried to take a pic, but she all I get a black and white blur as she charges around after her ball. Made of scrunched up paper.

I brough Whiskers up, but he growled and hissed so much I lost my nerve. He is normally such a friendly boy and so sweet tempered, but I was terrified he might eat her.

Lilly was a lionheart. Decided to try and sniff his bum regardless of the lack of welcoming noises from the front end. She may have a touch of the death wish about her cos she went for his tail.

I'll roast a chicken tonight and try feeding bits of that to him while he is ipstairs with her so he starts to think of her as the sign that nice stuff to eat is on the cards and thus may be worth not squashing flat , just in case the yummy treats dry up.

God only knows how badly Snowball is going to react to her. Grumpy git that he can be.

The others will probably ignore her once she comes downstairs (when bigger and less squishable). I hope.

I think the only real issue is size and tail attacking tendancies. Once we're past the teeny tiny stage I think everybody will adjust. They always have so far.

Billy, the male big dog met her today. He sniffed, yawned and then curled back up on the sofa (which is his new method of guarding the house now it's raining, the big wuss)

Oh well. Good progress on the eating though. Smile

I'd be tempted to try a little more sort-of-tough love. I assume she's using her tray for peeing now? If so, she'll have got it nicely fixed in her mind as her 'evacuation place' so maybe tomorrow, don't stimulate after she's eaten. (She'll likely want to poo shortly after eating.) Just be ready for accidents with lots of paper towel.

I'd also leave a shallow bowl or saucer of some kitten food down on the ground and keep it fresh. Just in case she decides to dip into it - she will eventually.

Kittens can get places that no-one else can, can't they? (Thinking of her scaling the drying sheets.) I well remember a pair of kittens we had once chasing each other across the sitting room curtains. OK - it was a big bay window and they were heavy curtains - but still, shouldn't have been possible to go horizontally. But they did it.

Keep going - you're doing well. Looking forward to the new photos!

Re Whiskers - and thinking back to the family's days of breeding rabbits and territoriality.

I might be tempted to take her into his territory rather than the other way around. He could feel more secure that way.

Just for a minute or two and assuming he's the only cat there. Could be a disaster but might be worth a try. You would just need to be fast on your feet.

SuoceraBlues · 05/09/2012 11:56

SHE JUST DID A POO IN THE LITTER TRAY!!

sniff!

My baby is growing up.

I would take her to Whiskers, but all the seven other cats are down there, plus small dog, and one big dog cos he is afraid of thunder and won't go outside. And the evil vampire rabbit.

I think I'd have a nervous breakdown trying to keep her safe. He did come back up again bit even chicken didn't work. I'll just keep plugging away...seems to have worked on the littler tray Grin

I may have a food based update a bit later.

Fingers crossed.

And toes

Oh Wow!

That's you off botty duties then. If she does it once in the tray, leave her to it from now on, apart from accidents. She'll be growing up real fast at this stage.

cozietoesie · 05/09/2012 12:20

PS - did she cover it up OK or was she so surprised by what she'd done that she ran away?

Smile
SuoceraBlues · 05/09/2012 12:24

She covered it up. But then sat in it and got litter stuck to her bum. So I'm still on botty wiping duty for now.

She is just so wonderul at this point. All purrs and so playful. And falls over fast asleep when she overdoes it Grin

I luff her sooooooooooo much!

We are inching ever closer to a food based update. By this afternoon I think.

All digits crossed.

You do realize, do you, that you're now going to be known in the district as the person to take abandoned kittens to?

NicholasTeakozy · 05/09/2012 12:44

This is the beginning of the end of your duties as 'Mother'. She'll still need formula for a couple of weeks, but not as much or as often. Well done.

cozietoesie · 06/09/2012 18:57

How is progress?

Smile
SuoceraBlues · 06/09/2012 21:20

sorry so late, took a month of sunday's to upload the damn thing

Still a bit Princessy. That is the only dish in the house she will eat out of. And it must be propped up at EXACTLY the right angle. I have other dishes in exactly the same style, but green. However that is not a royal enough colour for Her Tiny Majesty.

No bottle all day today.

I sterlized it and hid it away just in case more orphans arrive here in the future I threw the bottle away cos we will never need it again.

Awww. She's so BIG now. What a honey.

I think we need new pictures?

Smile
SuoceraBlues · 10/09/2012 08:25

Just as soon as she's dry.

Had to stick her under the tap AGAIN!

She has a real talent for walking in (and dipping her tail in) her poo.

I've just wiped up a veritable trail of pooy paw prints.

But at least off the floor and not the sofa this time Hmm

She's lucky she is deeply lovable.

Right now she has a bit of "drowned rat" look about her and is sulking on a towel in her house.

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 10/09/2012 08:29

Awww. She'll improve. The high squat is quite a difficult technique to learn and she has to practice. (The only good thing is that she'll be hating the sensation and smell even more than you so will have an incentive to improve - once she 'gets it' she'll have got it for life.)

Smile
cozietoesie · 10/09/2012 08:32

PS - if possible, arrange to hang around for half an hour after she's had her food. That's when she's most likely to go - and you might be there to prevent the worst of the accidents.

I take it she's using her tray for peeing like a good 'un now?

SuoceraBlues · 10/09/2012 09:17

Oh pee is no problem. Poo she doesn't like, even miows in a cross fashion when it's time. I'm always up here with her when she's awake. Daren't leave the little kamakazi darling alone if not fast asleep.

here she is an hour ago with DH, she finds his beard to be the best hunting practice EVER Can't blame a kitty for thinking he has a rodent attached to his face. Grin

7weeks today! Her weekiversary!!

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 10/09/2012 09:26

She's lovely!

And look on the bright side. If you were a cat mom, you'd have to lick her clean.

Grin
NicholasTeakozy · 10/09/2012 09:42

She's really growing up isn't she?!?

cozietoesie · 14/09/2012 05:38

Hope tray performance has improved?

Smile
MinkyWinky · 14/09/2012 09:50

Wow! She's grown so much:)

cozietoesie · 01/10/2012 11:28

How's she doing?
