Does your cat drool...

When you are stroking it? I have two cats and one drools constantly when I stroke her or rub her head, he also purrs like a speed boat :o

The other cat doesn't do this but I remember a previous kitty doing this and absolutely soaking my tops!
Is this normal?

One of mine does - friend's cat does, but then he has dental problems. Don't think mine does, he's just dribbly.

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/08/2012 17:34

We've had loads of dribly cats, our present one will dribble if he's really into his fuss, doesnt always dribble from the mouth either....

Ploom · 22/08/2012 17:38

We had a cat when I was a teenager that dribbled everytime it was stroked & was purring. We took him to the vet who says its a reflex that normally goes along with the paw pressing thing they do to their mothers (but our cat used to do to my chest!!). Aw he was such a loving cat - still miss him.

One cat drools. It's delightful Hmm. But I love him anyway

So glad to hear this is normal, she has only started doing it and she's over a year old now.

One of my Mums cats used to do this, bless her.

cozietoesie · 22/08/2012 18:43

...doesnt always dribble from the mouth either....

Oh my. Hmm

Sparklingbrook · 22/08/2012 18:55

I have a paw pressing/drooling half an hour with Sparkling Cat on my chest every morning. I take it as a compliment because she's purring like a train when she does it. Grin

Tangointhenight · 22/08/2012 19:25

Awh... And who says cats aren't affectionate? :)

Yes but drool coming out of the nose is a type of affection I could live without! I have video evidence of cat rubbing drool covered chin on DHs iPad. She loved it!

Tangointhenight · 22/08/2012 19:38

And it leaves your drooled on clothes with a fishy pong!

One of mine does this - frantic dribbling, so much so my t-shirt is soaked when she gets off my lap. She's like a ruddy dripping tap, seriously.

The other one - no.

Funny little buggers, aren't they? :)

Catsmamma · 22/08/2012 20:04

Faerie is the worst for this...she especially loves those furry fleecey dressing gowns and one of dh's velour-y cardis

the boy cats only drool rarely.

cozietoesie · 22/08/2012 21:17

Ah - drooling from the nose! I'm much relieved, Thought it might be still worse.

EngeldinkHumpabert · 23/08/2012 10:25

M step-cat's nose runs when she's being fussed. I take it as a sign of affection.
