I think this might be FABCat's last thread

This morning she was coughing and has also had a sloppy bowel accident outside. She wasn't interested in breakfast even though I didn't come down until after 9 and she wasn't about when DH left at 7. He normally feeds her before he goes. I had to put the plate under her nose to get her to come and ear.

Her back legs are a bit wobbly and I will take her for a jab on Monday to hopefully get some relief. She didn't wee over night so that is postiive but when I was comforting her when she was coughing it really hit me that she is very old and isn't my baby anymore Sad.

She has lasted for DD's birthday but I am not sure she will make her own Sad.

I have just put a towel on the sofa for her to sit on, just in case, but she wasn't impressed and has jumped down on to the floor.

My cat is getting to the end of her life and I am not sure I will ever get over it Blush.

She means the world to me, is the only thing in the world that is 100% mine, and I will miss her so much.

She continued to do it Grin.

I think he got the message!

Lovely to see her playing and showing character.

After a lot of deliberating, leaving and going back to the shop, I have bought FABCat this. I put her on it so she would know it was for her and she walked straight off it Hmm. I put her back on and encouraged her to stay on it so DH could take a picture and she got off as soon as she could. Why do I even bother?!?!!?

cozietoesie · 01/11/2012 17:32

Now there's your problem right away. If you had forbidden her to use it (a light forbidding) she'd have been up on it instantly!

JustFabulous · 01/11/2012 18:23

I know! You would think I had learnt by now. She has taken a couple of days to get used to something to sleep on in the lounge in the past though so not all hope is lost maybe just my £15!

oopslateagain · 02/11/2012 17:57

I bought a similar one for my cat. He gave it the Hmm look, and has never set foot on it. He will, however, sleep on any of my t-shirts that miss the laundry basket, my canvas shopping bags, my shoes, and any cushion that falls off the sofa.

JustFabulous · 02/11/2012 18:01

FABCat had a long sleep on it, on the sofa, today after someone put her on it. She hasn't voluntarily gone on it yet. Disappointed.

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 02/11/2012 18:18

Well she's not going to go on it voluntarily with anyone watching, is she? A girl has her pride after all.

JustFabulous · 02/11/2012 18:20

Pride? Confused

It is a gorgeous soft bed. Daft cat.

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 02/11/2012 18:32

It's a gorgeous cost bed which was chosen for her by someone else. She'll make you work for the feedback!

cozietoesie · 02/11/2012 18:32

soft bed, even.

JustFabulous · 02/11/2012 18:38

I wouldn't care but it is her Christmas present and we have given it to her early due to her advanced age and illnesses. Damn cat needs to show some appreciation. Just get on it once and go to sleep and I will be happy.

cozietoesie · 02/11/2012 18:46

Put it on the floor, preferably in front of a fire or next to a radiator. She'll be in it soon enough.

Smile

(Sorry for typing. I'm trying to type through Cozieseniorboy who had chicken for lunch and is trying to crawl all over me persuade me into chicken for supper. Not a chance.

JustFabulous · 02/11/2012 18:49

It is now on the floor.

FABCat is on the single chair, asleep, snoring very very loudly.

Grin
JustFabulous · 04/11/2012 18:35

Still rejecting pillow.

Found wee puddle.

Has lost 3lbs since put on rations.

Fed up.

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 04/11/2012 18:46

Shouldn't you be easing up on the rations soon? How overweight was she?

JustFabulous · 04/11/2012 19:00

She was a little over 12lbs iirc.

She doesn't look like she has lost any weight.

I think I will start giving her a bit more if the paw lifting carries on.

I may have given her some tuna earlier Grin.

OP posts:
JustFabulous · 04/11/2012 19:20

She has just peed all over the floor.

WHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?

More fed up.

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 04/11/2012 19:35

So she's about 8 lbs now? That's an OK weight. I'd start easing up on the rationing I think.

JustFabulous · 04/11/2012 19:38

We made it 9lbs.

DH has sprayed the carpet and it is setting my asthma off now.

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 04/11/2012 19:47

Buy or borrow a steam cleaner. (I got a reconditioned Karcher one from the firm - which wasn't expensive.) That will clean and sterilise anything.

JustFabulous · 04/11/2012 19:49

We have one. It is too noisy though to do it now as the children are in bed.

She has no infection so no medical reason to pee everywhere.

Did you notice the following thread, Just? Might be of interest.

JustFabulous · 04/11/2012 19:58

Looks good but we don't have that shop near us.

I have just put an old bath towel down.

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 04/11/2012 20:40

Ah well. Maybe a friend or relative will have one nearby. At £3 it might be worth a punt.
