First baby due November - don't want to distress the cats

I am due to have my first child in early November, and am wonderingif there is anything I should do to help my cats with the change when she arrives? I have two cat - an outgoing and noisy bengal cross who can get a bit needy if he doesn't get enough attention, and a ginger moggy who is very quiet and timid. Both spend most of the day outdoors (though this will probably be different in November due to the weather).

Any tips would be very welcome.

We put the cot up a little early to get them used to it, they used to jump in it a lot and soon learnt it wasn't their!

Tbh there isn't a lot else you can do before the baby arrives. we slowly introduced our two and made it clear they needed to be gentle with the baby. 7 months on. DS now tries to follow the cats and wants to stroke them, which one cat absolutely loves, the other less so!

We made a conscious effort to give our furbabies (3 indoor burmese) attention when they wanted it, I was a bit worried how one would react because she is very needy but she has just focused on DH more than me, it was our aloof boy that had a bit of a hissy fit when DD learnt to crawl, she's 19 months now and he still hasn't learnt and gets chased round and round the living room rather than retreat to a safe place!
We did resort to a feliway plug-in when said boy was nervous which has done the trick. We also added a few extra high beds/watching spots for them to retreat to but they still sleep on the carpet/foot stool!

We shut cats out of room before baby arrived so sprog didn't get the blame!

our cats were fine with the arrival of dd, didnt phase them in the slightest we had one grumpy ginger male 14 and 3 moggies abour 1 year old, the youngsters loved the fact that i seemed to be sitting down more during the day (whilst feeding dd) so they had me to snuggle up to, when she was sitting they used to sit next to her, the only problem we had was with the old boy he was fine untill she started crawling he did not like that the first time she crawled towards him he backed up to my dvds and sprayed up them!!!....other than that no problems

We've already closed off the baby's room to feline wanderers, so they shouldn't be too put out about it by November. Might add more high spots though - we are short on those.

Thanks!
