can anyone offer any advice

my 4 year old cat spends a lot of time outside, comes home for meals and tends to sleep on mine or my daughters bed

3 times in the last month I've got up in the morning to find he has regurgetated food -it's not hairball sick, it's very dry and literally looks like his food has just come back up

he is healthy, alert, bright eyes, not dropped any weight and his fur is in good condition

he is up to date with flea treatment and worming is due in 2 weeks

is this normal for a cat (he may have done it lots of times, but outside so I don't know -never uses the litter tray as always goes out) or do I need to get him to the vets which he hates!

thanks in advance

My cat is ill and one of the first symptoms was being sick more often than usual (she also lost weight and was lethargic before you panic and think I might be suggesting yours is ill).

When I was taking her backwards and forwards to monitor her weight loss and general not being rightness the vet said that as a solitary thing they weren't concerned about being sick unless it was more than two or three times a week as cats are fairly sicky wee things anyway, lol (which is what I suspected anyway after owning dogs)

They told me to keep an eye out to see if I could work out if she was eating something she shouldn't be or eating too much too quickly.

She got worse, because it was something causing it, but with just being sick every so often it was just a case of keeping an eye on it a bit - you can do that without the vet's visit.

My mothers cat does this, vet said she is so ravenous when she comes in that she stuffs herself and then throws up what her stomach can't contain, about 20 mins later. Vet said to put out only very small amount of food to satisfy cats initial hunger and then put out more small amounts later on. Having said that, get vet to check in case it is something else causing it.

one of mine does this he scoffs his biscuits down that fast that they come back up about ten minutes later i would just keep an eye on him if he gets a temerature or dosent look well then take him to the vets
