Shitty kitty is about 8mo. We had her from the vets in early Feb. When we first had her she was shut in the dining room to let her adjust to the house and us.

She was happy to use a litter tray for the first few months. Then she discovered the corner of the dining room and took to crapping there. At the same time she figured out the cat flap so we shut her out of the dining room (she still craps in the corner if we leave it open). Her food moved into the kitchen and the litter tray into the downstairs lol (just inside the back door.

Since we moved her she's not used the litter tray but happily craps on the lawn (not ideal with 2 small dcs but at least it's not outside.

We've just had almost a week away. The neighbours were feeding the cats. We've come home this evening to find 6 days of cat wee and poo on dd's bed. The duvet is trashed, its soaked through the sheet - thank goodness for matress covers - and splattered up the wall.

Obviously the cat will not be allowed in there again but what can we do to stop this happening?

It sounds like she was unhappy about the neighbours feeding her, and possibly you being away. Mine gets sulky if he's on his own too long.

I would use a cattery in future, look on FAB cats for a list of approved catteries.

Clean up the mess using bio powder and hot water and then sprinkle with bicarb of soda (savers do big bags). You can buy travel locks for doors on amazon so you can keep the door locked so she cant get in there. Mine can open doors so I use them at night.
