Anyone's mog had a stroke or vestibular syndrome? :(

Mine has, the vet thinks anyway.

I'm really gutted. Left for work yesterday morning and mog was running around happily. Come back in from work and she is drunk-walking, weak and listless :(

Vet has taken her bloods, and given her steroids. Said next couple of days are key to see if she picks up. Time can heal a stroke.

Any positive recovery stories to cheer me up? :)

Lots!! When i was a vet nurse we had lots of wonky cats - if its a vestibular syndrome, depending on the cause (could be simple as inner ear infection) then there is every chance of a full recovery. Fingers crossed that she will respond to the steriods. Vestibular syndrome was one of those things were owners were always horrified and scared beause its so extreme, but their pets often made full recoveries which was very cool.

Thanks doggiemumma, that's good to hear :) She is so lethargic and out of sorts. I feel awful. Am keeping everything X for her :)

my old mog had loads of strokes (we think) - he was wobbly for a while but after a few days was much better.he passed away aged about 18 in the end and not from strokes.

One of my boys had a cat stroke in 2009. He dragged his leg for a few days but steroids sorted it out and three years on, at the age of 14, he's not brilliant at jumping, but otherwise he's fine.

Hope your mog will be the same.

My dog has had 2 episodes.
last one over yr ago now. Only remaining sign is very slight head tilt that only I can notice, others cant tell.
Apparently its not like human stroke and most have no lasting effects :)
