Our Blue Cross boys are here! So far they seem happy and confident, they're definitely taking comfort from each other's presence. Despite them being of a perfectly sensible age we've already had to remove one from up the chimney and evict the pair from our room at 2.25am as they decided to start playing 'claw the divan base'.

You would never know they'd been in care for 11 months, and why they didn't get adopted far earlier, I do not know.

We have one issue to overcome - they met our older cat this morning for the first time. Cue wowling, hissing (and that was just her taking it out on me - apparently I am the root of all evil). I take it we just contine with slowly slowly introductions - unfortunately one of them was sitting in her spot when she came in which really hacked her off...

sounds like they have settled in very well (laughs at chimney climbing and bed base surfing)and the resi cat she will hiss at them to let them know she is the alpha cat , you will find eventually they will all either get on together or find thier own spaces in the house, possibly the fact there are two of them to go together is why they have been there a bit longer as most people want one cat and two cats are also more expensive to adopt as there are two adoption fees and vets fees have to be thought about, or people already have one or two cats and only want one more

Ours is sleeping with us as we moved on Friday, he's waking us up by clawing the divan too.

At 4.30am, then we have an hour of messing about before I give in and feed him. This includes sticking his claws in my mouth.

Your cat will get over it, or forever hold it against you in order to extract extra titbits. Best start bulk buying chicken now.

But they weren't pair.... They'd come from the same family but the centre weren't trying to rehome them together. It was only because we asked about a second that they told us.

It's not often that they get cats in where they know their history, given up through no fault of their own, used to busy household with several kids, completely bombproof.

It's the colour thing again, isn't it? They're black/black and white - if they were tabby, they'd be long gone...

sorry daisy i presumed they were siblings sounds like they get on together anyway, being from the same house they would be like siblings, and yes the black and white might have something to do with it, at Haworth we have had an explosion of black and white kittens recently, dont you know its the in colour this year, and on saturday we had two georgous tabby kittens available and funnily enough the two who got reserved were jeffery my foster kit and a pure black one (korki) whos now resident in my house as my new foster kit as the lady had lost a tabby to old age and didnt want another tabby she wanted totally different
