I can't help thinking he's got it wrong....

It was an egg. Some kind of chicks egg from some poor mummy birds nest.

Don't get me wrong, I'm very pleased i didn't end up chasing a half dead bird or mouse but, an egg???

Where's the thrill of the chase in that?

He's either a lazy git or he thought he'd get in really early before the poor bird could put up a fight.

Anyone else been gifted an egg before?

rofl no my british short haired never caught anything live but he used to go on a one cat street cleaning mission he used to bring in take out containers, cigarette packets, odd leaves and sticks and used to shout very loudly how proud he was of his accomplishments

Oh that's great issey :)

Maybe mine will bring me a pack of bacon from the shop next time? He's obviously hinting at a full English :o

As a kid our dog once brought a plastic bag full of chops home.

I thought this was going to be a request for recipes for left over Cat Kill.

RandomMess · 02/06/2012 14:38

Last week - dead rat, with mouse trap still attached - ewwwwwwwwww

tabulahrasa · 02/06/2012 14:43

Mine brought home an omelette once, then went back out and appeared a few minutes later with a raw sausage...

The thing is, the only scenario I can come up with where there would be a cooked omelette and a raw sausage is that one of my neighbours was cooking breakfast while my cat pilfered things when they looked away, lol

suzi2 · 02/06/2012 22:19

lol. My kitty brought me a mashed up snail. She's young though and still learning. My mum had a cat that couldn't catch a thing but would deliver road kill and food off the neighbours BBQ.

Our cat is obviously very lazy, she brings us socks from the next room and yowls about it.

Megmog2000 · 07/06/2012 18:58

My cat brought back a small mouse this morning. Still alive and kicking, poor cat was most disgruntled when I got my eldest DS to school it up let it go!! DD on the other hand thought it was her pet hamster and spent the next half and hour sobbing! The mouse ran away so hopefully it was ok, but I do wonder what's next. A previous cat brought home a half dead pigeon once, that wasn't pleasant!

numerous live bats, a seagull, a black pudding and a fish from the neighbours' pond Blush. He likes variety

My old girl is do lazy she doesn't even leave the house to hunt... Instead she raids the laundry and presents us with smelly socks and knickers Confused

These posts are very funny.

We've recently moved to the country and are getting gifts of shrews most night, some alive, some dead. A few birds thrown in there too.

At the old house we used to get lots of frogs.

The most random things included a gold fish (as far as i know, no ponds nearby) and a big chunk of ham (around Christmas time). We also had a Pidgeon once - how he managed to get it in the cat flap i dont know, it was pretty big.

When we moved out, as the removal men picked up the sofa, we found a rock hard skeletonised (not sure thats even a word) frog. I dread to think how long it had been there!

The police helicopter has been around the last couple of days, my cat has been in that pounce position they have - I keep telling her she has no chance of catching it.

sagenod · 08/06/2012 02:52

One of mine keeps bringing live lizards and geckos in (abroad) 90% of them get rescued/escape, but do lose their tails most of the time-it is horrible!

Love all the lazy cats!
