Cat flaps

Well our adopted cat is now settled in and going in and out with no problems. She uses the small bathroom window for access which we generally leave open. But I think we now need a catflap.

I was looking at this one:

that only lets your cat in. It's expensive though. Has anyone got one of these and is it worth the money?

I have one and it's fantastic - we had problems with next door's cats coming into our house so decided it was worth the money to keep them out. The feckers were eating our cat's food and a couple of times one of them got stuck in our house because the catflap was on inwards lock (to keep our cat in at night once he'd come home) - it actually destroyed the old catflap by ramming it to get out in a panic.

We talked about this on The Litter Tray a little while ago here's a link. We have the Sureflap and it's very good, worth the money (note, though, if your door has a double-glazed panel in it, it will be far cheaper to replace it with an opaque material with a hole in than to have a double-glazed panel made with a cat flap in it, which is what I did - because I didn't want to lose the natural light).

Our Sureflap was worth it - don't think we're going through less food now, but no one's pissing in the house!

It's a bit on the small side though. Our cats are about 5kg apiece, they struggle a bit, although that's mainly cos it's a tunnel setup, through a wall, but I do imagine a really big bruiser of a cat might have problems.
