One male bengal. Comes with;

The muddiest paws in the world. Even when it hasnt rained for weeks.
A miaow that could wake the dead.
A bodyclock that says 4am is the perfect time to get up.
What looks like, on first inspection, a starling with rigor mortis. Could be a mistlethrush.

Come on, you know you want him.

insist on being as close to your nose as possible when he farts

sounds like my exP Hmm

Grin

We also have the bespoke Ginger on Black range of clothing - many people look at me in awe horror as I pass them in the street, furr clinging to my every surface!

oreocrumbs · 19/04/2012 22:55

Oh they do. I keep my dogs in line well as much as I can, they get told off for barking/whining, they get told to go back and lie down when we are eating all that kind of stuff, while little lord fontelroy saunters around doing whatever he damn well pleases!....
..And I wouldn't have it any other way Grin

oreocrumbs · 19/04/2012 22:58

Yes ginger on black... Mine is asleep on the black washing as we speak. Its a look!

RustyKuntz · 19/04/2012 22:58

I reckon it's a rival to the MN scarf!

oreocrumbs · 19/04/2012 23:02

Aw rusty I just looked at your gang, how cute. Don't think I'll be crossing Rosie though!! Bert looks just like my Oreo. (We were expecting to bring home a black and white kitten from the rescue but the ginger one won out, hence the name)

Duritzfan · 19/04/2012 23:23

There is also the other one Grin She has a
very delicate disposition meaning she must be fed sliced turkey four times a day - any more or anything else and she will simpky vomit Sad
She has an obsessive habit of sleeping on the top of doors which scares you +%23less
if you dont know she's there .. Oh and she costs a FORTUNE in vets bills as she needs regular anti biotics, indigestion meds and vitamin jabs due to her condition

Gah ! Wink but I love her Smile

RustyKuntz · 19/04/2012 23:32

Oreo - I am pathetic about my zoo. Nobody in RL understands me, but thankfully MN does! (god bless the Litter Tray)

I got Bert from the vets. I'd been thinking about another kitty for a while but couldn't face going to the rescue place (as would have come home with all of them) and my mum called one day from the vets (was there with her dog) "Erm, a kitten has been dumped outside the vets....malnourished, covered in fleas, may not make it......if he does.....do you want him?"

Like I was going to say no!!

He gets preferential treatment when we go back, he lived there for about 4 weeks so had the entire staff at his beck and call!

Duritzfan sliced turkey - I hope you warm it for her first!

oreocrumbs · 19/04/2012 23:39

Aw bless him. He looks well recovered now though!

Duritz, your cat looks like the kind of lady who has very exacting requirments and will accept no less!!

How do they do it? I have a great book - the unadulterated cat by Terry Pratchett and it is such a funny and true reflection of all the cats I've ever owned. He makes the point how did cats and people come to live together. Dogs you can understand, they hunt, they offer protection, they are a pack animal. But cats? They just wander in and take over, and we - clever and civilised mankind just let them!!

There are great forces at work methinks...no wonder the ancient egyptians worshipped them Grin

RustyKuntz · 20/04/2012 00:19

I will have to look for that book Oreo - thanks for the heads-up.

I recently read a book by Tom Cox - Under the Paw. I loved it. A man who is as batty about cats (and as reluctant to admit it ) as me!

Well worth a read.

Yep, cats are the real 'rulers' of the human race. It's the only logical explanation for what they are allowed to get away with.

Poor, loving, loyal, dogs

sashh · 20/04/2012 10:03

I see your Bengal and raise you a small female whit and tabby who likes to go in and out of the bedroom window all night (live in a bungalow).
Superhero hearing - can hear the fridge open from 2 miles away

Interests

Chasing one or other of the nextdoor neighbours cats around the bedroom at 3am.

Sitting on the dining table, she knows she is not allowed so when you tell her offf she turns her back.

She is also the only cat I know off who when confronted with a red dot from a lazer pointer ignored the moviing dot and patted the pointer instead.

When I was still living with my parents they had a daft golden retriever, my then cat would pounce, grab the tail and then spen 20 mins being pulled around the house attached to the dog's tail by only teeth and claws.

See - she has her eyes on world domination, with a mind like that!!! Shock

threekidsfourcats · 20/04/2012 11:19

could i also throw in 5 of the most cutest fluffy bush baby blue eyed kittens into the kitty (sucse pun :) ) who despite me telling them they are actually cats have decided they are fish by constantly diving head first into their water dish!!! they have a fantastic ability to turn the whole house into a mega litter tray...despite ploking of kitten in litter tray they much prefer the softness of the carpet Grin

SparkyTGD · 20/04/2012 12:47

All these tales making me very jealous, (except hamster obv sorry Sad) as I only have very elderly ill (kidney failure) cat who is very sweet but unfortuanately on her last legs.

I really miss the fun of younger cats & the nonsense they get up to.

threekidsfourcats · 20/04/2012 14:55

so sorry to hear your cat is poorly sparky huge hugs to you both, i must admit its the worse part of having any animal is when they get old and poorly xxx

sashh · 21/04/2012 06:00

Lol - no that was Dr Squeak - the mouse who outlived the others by almost a year, was completely blind by the end but I honestly believe was planning on world domination.

Back to the cat - one of my friends has nicknamed her "fuzzy savant" - she is quite dumb in some areas.

Sparky - sorry you are having health issues with yor cat - I know that one from aprevious cat - so sad.

outmonday · 21/04/2012 20:55

Sparky - my old girl sleeps for 23 1/2 hours a day and I'm tempted to get a kitten. I doubt old cat would even notice it but don't want to upset her twilight years. She could sleep on another 5 years and kitties are such fun...

PeahenTailFeathers · 21/04/2012 21:13

I'll take on all the cats because they'll be a breeze compared to my Manx.
He has to have/be:
Someone to stroke him and make a huge fuss of him when he feels extraordinarily happy at 4am most mornings (could almost drown in the amount of dribble he produces)
A freshy cooked piece of whitefish for his breakfast every morning between 5.30-6am
Tucked up in bed with his head on my pillow and to be covered with the quilt (he doesn't settle himself, I have to get him into a comfortable position)
A sparkly pink mouse with him at all times, but especially for playing with when he sits in the living room window
A hand to attack whenever he feels playful
An open umbrella to hide behind and jump out on passers by
Someone to chase him around the house when he gets really frisky (he bounces around like a giant rabbit)
7 sweeties (aka Whiskas Temptations) every evening
Access to the bath so he can wash himself (no water in the bath at the time!)
Shut in the cupboard every now and again (but he hates having to come out)
Regular armpit tickling
Occasional nail filing (he loves it!)
Occasional bum wiping Blush

SparkyTGD · 23/04/2012 09:33

Thanks for good wishes, outmonday my old cat too nervy & easily upset for any new additions, she has enough with the chaos that DS & his mates create Grin

Usually wisely stays in her bed away from the hulabaloo & comes through for cuddles & q-t in the evening when he's off to bed.

SparkyTGD · 23/04/2012 09:34

He sounds fab Peahen Grin
