The other 2 manage to make it to the tray each time, but one of them always does it right near the food tray.

I really have no ideas.

Sad

Is the cat litter near to where they are fed? If so try to move them further apart.

They are not supposed to like to relieve themselves where they eat. So this may be confusing him.

I have almost stopped my cat weeing by feeding her in that spot.

She had started to wee on the carpet in the utility room as she was stressed by the snow. I have had to put down a rubber mat which is working to protect the carpet but she was still weeing on the mat. I have fed her there for the last few weeks and it is definitely helping. She lapsed last week when I fed her back in her old place, this time I shall feed her there for longer.

Is it because the tray isn't clean enough for him? or being bullied by siblings?

ChaosTrulyReigns · 18/03/2012 21:50

The food tray and the litter tray are in opposite corners of the room.

Once he pooped in the food tray. Sad

They are 8 weeks.

Bullied?

He is the weakest one.

The litter tray is generaly clean, but obviously that's tricky to maintain overnight - he definitely did it while there wasa clean tray down this evening.

His poos are different to the others' if that's pertinent. Confused

Is there any possibility of a second tray? Especially with 3 cats, it might be advisable.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 18/03/2012 22:15

Yes, I could try that. Boo hiss - more work.

Not in the long run though.

Sorry for delay - with boy cats they quite often need there own areas for litter, so yep you'll need another tray (or 2).

Have you done that and is it working?

ChaosTrulyReigns · 20/03/2012 12:51

I put down another tray yesterday in exactly the spot where the poo always was. The not pooing in the tray has just moved to another spot. Sad

Also there's always wee up one corner of the room as well.

The vet diagnosed worms yesterday, and my gut feeling that the woman I had them off lied about hwo old they are was confirmed as well.

Could be the worms causing the pooing,Chaos.

How old are they really.then?

Pinot · 20/03/2012 12:57

Ohh poor things, worms can be really itchy :( Soak up the wee in cotton wool and leave that in the litter boxes so hey associate the box with wee smells. Same with poo - scoop it up, put it in the box, pop the kitten in with the poo and see if you can encourage them to cover it with litter. You may have to use your fingers a few times to show them what to do.

Glamourous innit?!

Pinot · 20/03/2012 12:59

Also, I found limiting them to one room at this stage was helpful. I could spot when hey were going to squat and could quickly get them into the box and then praise when they did it in there - even a tiniest drop.

For the carpet - Zoflora concentrated disinfectant or strong Bio washing powder in a little water to nuke the urine smells.
