Cat flap in double glazing

Have posted this in 'property', then thought it might do better here: we currently have two cats and zero catflaps. They like to go out, they like to come in, they like to go out when they have just come in and like to come in when they have just gone out. I would like a cat flap. There's nowhere really to fit one in the wall and the front door is not an option, so we're left with putting it in one of the patio doors.

I understand that they need to cut new glass for the door, so unfortunately this is looking like it's going to be a bit pricey. I've had a quote for £390 Shock. Has anyone had this done in London for a more reasonable price?

We are in the same situation (also in London). I feel like a butler sometimes, opening and closing the glass kitchen door! When it's warm and I'm at home I just leave the kitchen door or a window open, but a friend of mine suggested getting a catflap in a low window so that the cat can jump through. Might be cheaper than a door but I've no idea who might be able to do it.

Yeah, we don't really have a suitable window unless I want the cats trotting in and out over the kitchen table or the sink/draining board. I can't believe that this isn't possible for less money. I will let you know if I find any leads...

If you are ground floor you could have it put into a wall that opens into a cupboard.
A friend did that, they only drawback was remembering to leave the kitchen cupboard open for Tuppy to go in and out.

I have been researching this, in South East, other people report quotations of £500-£600 so to me £390 for new door glass with hole sounds, well, not cheap but you know, relatively cheap Grin

But do let me know if you find you cna get it done for less.
