where is my cat?

I know you don't ACTUALLY know where my cat is but... where is my lovely, beloved cat? She is so special to me, really clever, affectionate, just a FANTASTIC cat. We all love her so much. But she's been missing since 5pm Wednesday.
I didn't let her out. Last I saw she was walking into the house from the hallway. INTO the house. None of us have knowingly let her out since. We have looked in every single corner, cupboard, bed and cranny. We have called. We have looked for footprints in the snow.
Where is she?

Where might a cat go? What shall I do?
Please help me.

Are there holes anywhere? Do you have underbed drawers? Wardrobe again? What colour is she?

Sparklingbrook · 10/02/2012 20:59

Oh grolier I am sorry, I know how you feel-just helpless. In the morning you need to speak to all the neighbours and ask if they have seen her, print some posters to put on lampposts and deliver to neighbours further away. Is she microchipped? Is she wearing a collar?
Also ring all local vets and cat rescues.

Airing cupboard and laundry basket are favourite hiding places for Sparkling cat.

Do you have kickboards under your kitchen cupboards? Take one off and see if she's under there.

Friend's cat disappeared for over a week and was shut in neighbours garage (they'd gone on holiday) - I second the posters and knocking on all the neighbours doors x

Looked in all the underbed drawers, wardrobes, airing cupboard, inside the tumble dryer, laundry basket, I can't think of a nook or cranny I have looked in. Then told my DH to look in. Then got my DS HOME FROM UNIVERSITY to come and double-look in everywhere as well.
She's a long haired tortoiseshell moggie, not microchipped. She always gets the collar off.

It's a real mystery. You would have thought she would be meowing by now and if she had had a poo or wee (which she must have done since Wednesday) if she is in the house you would smell it. So she must be out. Confused

Shed, garage, airing cupboard, loft, or behind the gap in the midddle of the drawers of our spare room bed (3 days here for one of ours in spite of us searching and calling - and she was fine). Tumble dryer, washing machine. I assume you have done the obvious and left food out for her and its not been eaten? Maybe ask neighbours to check sheds and garages. Dont despair - I hope she comes back safely as ours has done often - but it is scary while you wait.

Have you had any visitors that she could have sneaked out with?

Sparklingbrook · 11/02/2012 08:20

Has she appeared yet grolier?

grolier · 11/02/2012 09:13

She's back!!!!!!!
She HAD got out somehow and was stuck up on the roof behind the chimney. It's minus 12 here and the roof is so icy she couldn't get down. I heard a tiny miaouw while I was in bed this morning, stuck my head out the bedroom window and look upwards, and there she was, perched on the ridge of the roof, shivering and refusing to move. We managed to entice her along the roof to a low point over the garage and then she skidded down and into our arms.
Frosty all over and really skinny - but home.
YAY!! I am so happy. Thanks everyone... SmileGrin

That is brilliant grolier, I am so pleased, she will probably have 3 dinners and a very long sleep now. Smile
