Ok my 4 month old PFK was sick on my bedroom floor at 4am for the first time!
It was not pleasant! Now I read on here that cat's vomitting is par of the course due to hairballs etc....but I just want reassurance that it is normal iyswim.

She seems fine today...has eaten and drank and been in litter tray(no runny poo)
The sick was stone grey coloured (tmi) and looked like her dinner from earlier...but no hairs. Do you see hairs? if you don't see them...is it not hairballs and possibly she's unwell?
She doesn't go out yer,is up to date with jabs and no change in diet.
Sorry about the yucky post...I do hope you have all had breakfast way before you have read this Grin

Sounds normal to me. I can't recall seeing hairs in my kittens poo, but normally the grey one eats it.

Obviously that is kitten's spew. Still, the grey one generally eats it, even if it belongs to his brother.

One of my cats is sick at least once a week. He has been checked at the vets and has no other problems at all.Just a sicky cat.
The others chuck up furballs occasionally. Usually on my pillows.
If yours is otherwise fine I wouldnt worry.

Yes, some cats are just sick. Mine once ate the topping off a cheese and tomato pizza, drank out of the toilet and then threw up copiously on my parents' bed (while they were away on holiday, naturally). I had a load of cleaning up to do and I didn't even catch him doing it because I was out at work at the time of the incident.

Thank you oh wise ones Smile

She has been a bit quiet today...sleeping a little more than usual, but it's cold and her basket is near the radiator so that could be a reason.

She looks a bit 'sad'...but maybe I am just imagining it Confused

She has eaten normally though...so I will keep an eye

i was like you a few months ago, got a cat, never had one before, and she was sick. i have since quite quickly learnet it just 'is'! (she's been checked out at the vets too, just one of those things), all part of their charm. she often goes and eats straight after. i have been told that some cats can be sick purely for eating too fast....

"Looking sad" to obtain food/affection is in the standard cat repertoire.

You'll know you've got an expert on your hands when PFK has mastered the "sympathy limp" for maximum worry-effect. (Limp for 1 day to be fed salmon, walk normally the next day to avoid a trip to the vets).

paisleyII · 31/01/2012 22:52

our cat doesn't seem to like salman. if you're talking TUNA, she goes barmy for it :D

paisleyII · 31/01/2012 22:52

i meant salmon

CokeFan · 31/01/2012 23:42
