naughty cat

I have three cats, all moggies. They are 8, 6 and 2, all neutered toms. Usually, they all get on fine, but the youngest one is flexing his muscles and picking on the eldest. This is a recent thing. It does get nipped in the bud as soon as he starts, but just wondered if there's a way to discourage this behaviour? Poor Brian can't cope.

Marking place, am having exactly this problem with my neutered tom (7ish months) and my lovely girl moggie who is 3 years. He batters her senseless and if I don't get there and pull him off her, all hell breaks lose.

There are other times when she will happily play with him, but he seems to just attack out of nowhere.

He is very naughty and a bit dim

Your tom is still being a kitten and wants her to play. He will grow out of it. Does he go out to play now? Bob did calm down when he was allowed out. It's only recently that he's gone back to being so naughty.

Can't you leave them to sort it out amongst themselves? Alternatively, a plant sprayer or water pistol is an effective deterrent.

Kreecher, it would mean vet's bills if I left them. I think I might try a plant spray, actually. Good call.

I have a bob too :) its a good name for a cat.

Oh, good to know he's just being a kitten.

I've no experience of toms - Rosie was much easier to handle as a kitten but Bert is a bloody nightmare!
