Do I phone the vets or not?

I know, I know, usually the answer is yes, but bear with me, lol

She's not a well girl overall, though not off colour at all today...she's currently hunting a cardboard box, lol

She's got lymphoma and is on various medications, she last saw a vet about a week ago and 3 times in the week before that because she was off colour, so her medication's been altered slightly and what have you and she's fairly sprightly.

She's now got diarrhoea, not going everywhere or anything, just I noticed when she used the litter tray, she's perky enough, eating and drinking fine - I suspect it's from her painkiller which she's only on till I see her oncologist on Thursday (it's a temporary one from my vets) because she's not been out and hasn't eaten anything she shouldn't that I know of.

If she was healthy I wouldn't think anything of it at all, but I find myself phoning the vet for ever little thing at the moment (PFC and all that, lol) so I thought I'd ask you instead...

It's ok to leave it until Thursday morning, eh? Barring her getting worse or obviously feeling under the weather

Agree with me, please? lol

Otherwise I'll have to phone them and I think they might be on the verge of taking out a restraining order on me...

I would leave it, she doesn't seem to be in pain or distressed.

tabulahrasa · 24/01/2012 18:02

Cheers, I don't know why I feel the need to get people to validate my opinion...I'm not that bad about anything else, lol

I know she's not feeling bad because she comes and stares at me when she does Hmm (it's quite disconcerting actually)

It sounds like its the pills. If you're certain she's eating and drinking it should wait until Thursday. Just keep an eye out for dehydration.

tabulahrasa · 24/01/2012 18:09

She's been fed 3 times today so far and definitely eaten it and I've seen her drink...that makes me sound more neurotic doesn't it? that I'm feeding her that often, lol In my defence that's on medical advice Blush

Does it make me sound any more or less crazy if I reassure you that I don't fuss over my DC like this? lol

Lol.

My poor boy was run over recently and I felt just as bad at the vets as I did when DD ended up in a&e before Christmas!

I think you'll see if she deteriorates due to dehydration so I think it would be safe to wait until Thursday.

tabulahrasa · 24/01/2012 18:22

It's because I know she's dying, even when she's well if you see what I mean, I watch everything...it's ridiculous, I think I need to get out more or something, lol.

I know exactly how you feel. I had a cat who got to the ripe old age of 17, lovely lovely Debra. She had lymphoma and carried on for years. When she because too weak I knew it was time to have her PTS.
It was heartbreaking despite having had six years to prepare for it.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 24/01/2012 18:26

Out of interest, why are you LOLing?

tabulahrasa · 24/01/2012 18:33

Ah, I see people complaining about lol...I'm one of these highly irritating giggly people :) -I obviously don't say lol, but if I was talking I'd do something...

Is it annoying?

I could use :) more, but is that better or worse?

I think she's loling at how she seems a bit pfc about it. But she's just being a good owner IMO.

And maybe it's a laugh or cry thing ?

I think looking back at how I was with my cat it might have seemed ott to others so can laugh at myself too.

FitForLife · 24/01/2012 18:34

Oops. Cross post :)

tabulahrasa · 24/01/2012 18:35

Oh yes, it's at the ridiculousness of the fussing I'm doing...otherwise I worry it comes across as me being overwrought.

I mean I am upset about her being ill, in general - of course, but I also see how silly it is that I fuss over her so much
