My cat didn't come home last night

I'm absolutely worried sick, I've been up most of the night calling her but there's no sign. It's freezing as well.

We've only had her a few months so she still doesn't really know the area too well. She didn't go out for the first 6 weeks but then she loved it. She doesn't really respond to her name yet but she normally just stays in or around the garden and then miaows at the door to come back in.

I don't know what to do. She's been out since early eve last night. I'm just hoping she's got locked in a shed or garage so she'd at least have been sheltered from the frost. If she is, I'm hoping she'll turn up when people start going out to work and open up garages etc but then I've got to go out to work at 8.30 so there'll be no-one here to let her in until 3 when dh gets home.

Will she have been ok in the cold? None of my cats have ever really stayed out overnight so I'm worried sick. I haven't told the dcs yet as I'm hoping she'll turn up before they notice.

frostyfingers · 19/01/2012 15:52

She was just testing how much you loved her!

RollerCola · 19/01/2012 17:11

Thanks again everyone, Coco was a very hungry little girl last night so she had about 4 teas and then went into a coma curled up on our bed. We kept waking her up though to give her a cuddle Wink

She was still sleeping off her adventure this morning - normally she's wandering about the house at 6.30 miaowing for food but I woke her up at 7.30 and she still looked tired! She's staying in for a while now , and I've ordered her a collar!

July! Wow!!! Oh they must be soooooo happy!!!

crazynanna · 19/01/2012 21:04

Yep Smile
The lady (she was a mature lady) had lost her dog to cancer in the April..and the cat went missing in July. Poor women was distraught...and there she was yesterday...a bit thinner but in good health...crying at her back door!!!

What a reunion Grin

Yay for coco turning up. I used to have a cat who would go for walks with me, he also used to try and follow me to the bus stop, which was less good. He met a tragic end under the wheels of a car Sad

PurpleKittyKnitting · 19/01/2012 21:10

I wonder what adventures the cat has been on!

crazynanna · 19/01/2012 21:10

If only they could talk Grin

I know this thread is ages old but as a result of being worried about our cat who's gone walkabout I came across this and I'm convinced OP that we must be neighbours! I'm spitting distance from the Manchester Ship Canal and have a chap who walks his two cats round the block every evening - can't be too many of those around!! Small world and delighted that you found your cat - fingers crossed our girl comes home soon too!

Abbymariacatita · 16/09/2017 18:43

My cat has been gone for 2 days now its really not like her at all, she always comes back to eat. We've had her for almost a year now. 6 weeks ago she gave birth to 4 kittens. She recently stopped breastfeeding them. But these kittens won't stop crying for her. Tried calling her with her food which she normally comes running for but this time she didn't. I'm worried that she got bumped, i'm a bit scared to find her dead.

EachandEveryone · 16/09/2017 19:02

What are you doing with the kittens are you feeding them? Maybe sge got fed up of them i heard they can do that.
