If you are going to go and have a long sleep in the bottom of the laundry bin could you let me know? I have been outside whistling on and off all day and tapping your fork on your plate. Angry I was about to get the 'Missing' posters printed and everything. Oh and sorry for throwing those pants and socks on your head. Sad

Naughty sparkling cat!

Grin

Mine usually hide themselves about 20 inches from me (when outside) cunningly disguised by some shrubbery. No amount of calling and tapping on bowls brings them out until they're good and ready :)

lubeybooby · 15/01/2012 19:01

Naughty sparkling cat! One of mine does a similar thing only she goes for a long sleep under a chair in my bedroom that has loads of clothes a coat draped over it, so I can't see her.

Note to my cats - if you must insist on joining me when I go to the loo, don't then whinge when I shut the door. I will open it again, of that you can be sure. Daft furballs :o

PurpleKittyKnitting · 15/01/2012 19:01

Yes our cat did this to us, think he was hiding somewhere in our room. He is a house cat but we were thinking he had somehow got out without us noticing, went outside, started looking under nearby cars, frantic at this stage, when my daughter said he just walked in the lounge!

Sparklingbrook · 15/01/2012 19:02

I was convinced she had gone missing Bibi. She does the hiding in bushes thing too. Angry
I have no idea why she wanted to sleep in the laundry bin. Confused

Laundry baskets are so much fun for kittys! We still use a set of 2 we got when we first moved in together about 20 years ago, one is huge and the other is little small one that he fits in nicely.

I can imagine him saying 'yes even before I was born you got this basket for ME!!'

Sparklingbrook · 15/01/2012 19:09

But I threw pants on her head. Sad Cats are weird. But I love her and she has now clambered out to sleep on the bed instead.

Grin Sparkling
I think all these missing cat threads have made you didgy Sad

I went out into the shared hall yesterday to get the post. After 15 minutes of hearing kitten's meows and no location...it dawned on me.

There she was in the hall outside my flat door...must have shot through my legs Shock.
It made me nervous though. Later on...I heard a cat meowing..and was screaming POPPPPPPYYYYYYY!!!!!!!....to look down and see her sat next to me looking really confused...she'd been there all along and it wasn't her meowing Blush

PurpleKittyKnitting · 15/01/2012 19:12

Clean pants?!

Our cat is a big soft wuss, he lets us put a blanket on him, he loves cushions and snuggles up with them

Sparklingbrook · 15/01/2012 19:13

I think you may be right crazy. I do like to know where she is. I have opened the bedroom window to call her before now thinking she was out, she was sat on the bed behind me wondering what I was doing.

No dirty DS pants Purple, she chose to sleep in with the dirty laundry. Sad

I hate not knowing where our cat is, I go all panicky. I think he sometimes sits wherever he is hiding waiting for us to get a bit of ham to tempt him out!!

PurpleKittyKnitting · 15/01/2012 19:17

Oh poor girl! Lots of big cuddles and kisses!

Sparklingbrook · 15/01/2012 19:18

Two years ago I did have my cat go missing. She was only one. 5 days later we found her, she was dead but not a mark on her, but we knew she had a heart murmur. I think that is the main cause of me being a bit stressy over poor Sparkling cat. Sad

oh that is terrible :(

Sparklingbrook · 15/01/2012 19:30

I sobbed and sobbed when she went missing I had a feeling she wasn't coming home.. Weirdly as soon as she was found, I stopped sobbing and felt a bit better even though it wasn't good. I really just wanted to know what had happened to her. She had had kittens just before we got her. Sad

Our cat used to belong to our neighbour but her toddler son was a bit rough with him, pulling his tail etc. He went missing for about 2 weeks, she used to shut him in her bathroom and hated him following her around. At one point he kept coming in our garden and I just kept putting him back over the fence, but he followed me to our back door!

Then she was having to go to her mum's to look after her dogs and asked if we could look after him for a few days, and then said we could have him if we wanted to! That was when he was about 6 months old, he will be 5 this year. He is so lovely, and we love him following us!

Wandered away from the small point I had there....! Within about a week of having him, we said to each other how devastaed we woudl be if anything would happen to him. We moved about 18 months ago to a HA flat and are so glad we are allowed to have him, I think the fact he is a house cat swung it for us! Just a few times he has gotten out our front door and in the communal area but we quickly hoik him back in!
