Has anyone ever fed their cat on fresh food?

I don't mean buying her a piece of salmon everyday - but has anyone used food that isn't "cat" food?

If you want to feed fresh food you must include offal most particularly liver which is rich in taurine an essential amino acid that cats can not make. Dogs can make taurine so it is not essential for canine raw diet to include offal.

Ah yes been reading about taurine - thanks for that. Do you feed fresh food?

I have always fed my cats a combination of Hill's Science Diet kibble, "cat food" and "human food" - by which I mean bits of roast chicken (sometimes mashed in with some vegetables), or ham/ bacon, or sardines, or liverwurst, or whatever. They have always loved it and it was helpful when my cat developed cancer and largely lost her appetite as she had a repertoire of foods that she was interested in eating and so she continued to remain willing to eat for longer than she might otherwise have been. I also worry about why commercial cat food is "not fit for human consumption" - it seems full of a lot of unnatural things, poor quality meat, chemicals, and preservatives. Any standard wet cat food I use is also Hill's Science Diet because I figure it's probably the best option.
