Offered a lilac point boy- Is It too soon?

I posted a couple of weeks ago about our heartbreak ad a family after losing our beloved little black cat. It's only been a few days since we heard the bad news from the vet.

We have been offered the chance to go and see a 6 month old lilac point Siamese boy tomorrow. His litter mates all found homes but he got left behind and is being offered as an adult to a kind home for the cost if his vaccinations. I'm a bit torn as it seems heartlessly soon to think of a new kitten but on the other hand the DCs are excited and thinking of having a kitten in the house has put a smile back on their faces.

Grin Envy

Sparkling Poppy is nearly 12 weeks now and I mix dry and wet food for her...but she seems to cry for more. I give her the mix (half pouch of wet) twice a day...and there is always dry in a little bowl for as and when...so 1 pouch per day of wet.

Do you think she needs more? or is she just a greedy caaahhh?

I'm a bit rubbish re this cos I've never had a kitten Envy. I do feed 4 yr old furry baby 'on demand' so to speak. I don't think it would hurt to give a bit more if she seems hungry.

He's still hiding away but is very vocal about wanting us to fuss him. He likes his ears being tickled and being told how beautiful he is. He is peeking out of his wicker 'cave' at us and complaining loudly and comically in what I'm sure is very rude Siamese. He had an explore about the kitchen last night and slept in the basket on top of the big scratching post but hid away when the DCs came down for breakfast.

They both went off to school clutching pics of him to show their friends. Grin

I want an effing and jeffing siamese. Envy

He's really come out of his shell this evening and has fully explored the kitchen with his tail in the air. He has such a loud purr and is now being really affectionate. That is when hes not shouting loudly in Siamese!!

Have you got your Siamese/English dictionary to hand? Grin Sounds like he may be a bit of an extrovert after all.

SeaweedNK · 06/12/2011 13:09

He's getting a more confident with DH and me now. But he is very very loud and is still shouting all the time. I'm used to vocal oriental cats but he is beyond a chatterbox!

He is such a sweet cuddly boy though and likes snuggling into my neck and hair. I'm hoping he will quiet down as he gets used to his new home?? GrinGrin

What a stunning cat.
Good luck with the quiet down. You know fine well it will only happen when he is asleep! I like Linus as a name. Makes me think of the film Sabrina Grin

he is gorgeous, and linus is a perfect name Grin
