My Cat jumped out the bedroom window today

We got a rehomed cat about a month ago. She has had kittens but the vet said she is very young so may still not be year old.

She has a lovely nature and still very playful.

We started letting her out after 3 weeks as per advice from CPL and she is happy to stay in our garden, although will sit on the next doors shed roof and will walk along the fence round the garden etc but comes in

Tuesday she got stuck up one of our trees. Couldn't find her then heard her crying and spotted her about 12 foot up the may tree in the garden. DS had to rescue her.

Today DH was sitting in the dining room and suddenly saw the cat come flying past. She had jumped from DD's bedroom window. Thankfully she landed safetly and didn't hurt herself.

Is she likely to do again or am I going to have to make sure she can't get into rooms with open windows?

I don't let my cat in rooms with open windows cos he'll be out on windowledge with a "this seems perfectly safe to me, can't see a problem here" look on his face.

No forward thinking skill whatsoever.

Watch out for conservatory roofs too, there ok going up it's sliding down the otherside and freefalling that does the damage. Mainly to your blood pressure.

My girl cat has done this a few times - a deliberate calculated decision on het part.

It is seriously bad for your blood pressure!

Thankfully I wasn't in to see it, I just got a call from DH telling me about it!
She is a lovely little cat, but a bit of a nutter. Her favorite game is "chase me" She waits at the top of the stairs for to chase her. If I don't she comes down to get me.

I'm twitchy at open windows at window sill level after one oft cats had climbed out the window whilst I was sitting in bed having a cuppa, 7 months pregnant. All of a sudden she slipped, managed to catch the window sill with both paws and cling on. She clung there whilst I staggered out of bed then she couldn't hold on anymore and her little worried face vanished from sight, mid way through a surprised meow.

I was pretty hysterical and sent DH down to find her. He opened the front door and in she strolled. How I didn't go into labour I don't know !

My dad always tells the DCs the story of his cat who jumped out of the upstairs window ... straight into the water butt! Then jumped up as high as the upstairs window in shock!! Grin Needless to say it didn't try it again!!
