Unfortunately needing to rehome our two cats.

I have no idea if this is the best/right place to put this but we are in the unfortunate situation of needing to rehome our 2 beautiful cats due to DS being allergic to them and I have absolutely no idea how to go about it.

DH wants to just put a free to good home notice up on the local supermarket board but I wasnt sure about this anyway and having read some threads on here am now loath to do it but how do I go about finding any local rescue centres.

We did get our original girlie from a rescue centre but due to our and friends experience there (we paid £50 for a lovely young cat from them and a few weeks later ended up with 8 cute but unwanted babies which we had to then find homes for)we dont want to take them back there.

We are in Wakefield West Yorkshire if anybody knows of anywhere.

Depending on how sever the allergy is, there are things you can do to reduce reactions.

Keep cats out of his sleeping areas
Wipe cats down regularly with cat washing wipes
Use a shedding blade (brush) to remove loose hairs from cats coat, therefore reducing hair left around the house.

Haworth Cat Rescue is a lovely centre we got one of our cats from there years ago...RIP Sandy hope you are enjoying the rainbow bridge.

Sure they will help of they can, best of luck.
