Hmm I have fire for him to sit by and he loves it but he insists on going out and then looking IN through the back door in fury as though I'm the one who threw him out.

This goes on and on, in and out - it can't be for a pee every time.

We have no cat flap, so I am doorman for his lordship whilst this palavar goes on before he deigns to stay in and have a snoozeGrin.

Ha! It's because they are bastards Angry

Newcat has learned a superb new trick. He scales the laundry which is in a conservatory attached to the next door building - just a few steps away from the house, then he sits there mewling. People assume the cat is stuck and knock asking us to help. Various postmen, delivery and metermen have been conned by him.

Whenever we've got a ladder out he's gone. And we find him sleeping on the bathroom (heated) floor Hmm

But today, today he did it in the snow and slid straight off again. He is now scowling at me from the sofa where he's licking his wounds.

That is so funny!

My two have just come in very sheepishly - and I've gone to shut the backdoor, and there is a cat twice their size, just sat waiting. They are now peering round the curtain at him to see if he's still there or not!!!

Show - I bet you do Grin.

My cat does this all the time, from first thing in the morning. I feed her and then let her out I then go and sit down and there she is at window meowing and glaring at me. I let her in, she checks her food bowl, eats what's left then goes to door scratching wanting to go out again, 2mins later shes back at window. I try and ignore her as it's getting beyond a joke now but more longer I leave her she scratches the window or my front door and as it's a plastic door, the noise goes through me so I end up letting her in. It's a constant circle and I dont know what I can do

Ours would be outraged by the rain out the back door so thought they would go out the front door instead. Why was the rain there, too??

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/11/2019 22:37

Ours goes out minutes before dh comes home so he can do the “thank god your home your bitch wife locked me out in the rain” routine.

Then I get dh saying “I can’t believe you let him out in this weather”.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 04/11/2019 08:14

Asbo is hoping for a sympathy treat from DH isn't he? He's playing you off against each other. He's worked out that he needs to make DH work for affection and he'll always keep that carrot dangling.

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/11/2019 08:37

Dh does a full rub down with a towel when he’s wet, I only do paws. He loves a rub down.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 04/11/2019 09:36

Does DH also mutter things about poor neglected fluffy wuffy pussy cat and give him appropriate food treats in the desperate hope of a nose-boop and snuggle?

Fluffycloudland77 · 04/11/2019 09:59

Pretty much.

FlyingFlamingo · 04/11/2019 16:37

Since it’s got colder Bigcat asks to be let out. We oblige. She walks around the patio a bit. Realises she’s cold/wet. Asks to come back in.

A few minutes later she asks to go out again. Realises it’s still cold. Asks to come back in.

Repeat. Repeat. Repeat until I lose my patience and tell her she’s staying in. So she looks up at me and tells me it’s all my fault and asks why is it cold and wet and why aren’t I fixing the garden so it’s sunny and warm like it used to be?

Dkitten has realised she doesn’t approve of this thing called winter so she’s decided to just not go out. It’s the only thing she’s more sensible about Grin

DobbyTheHouseElk · 04/11/2019 16:58

SnoreCat has had a great day outdoors. Out of any available window and back calling me at the front door. I never let him out of the front door.

Repeat all day long.

DH refuses to install a cat flap, but he isn’t the door slave,
