my little kitties can go out from tomorrow (2wks after their last jabs) is it worth letting them out for a few wks??

Vets says them getting them up the duff so young is impossible.

They will be spayed at 6mths....

Any tips on letting them out for the first time...

Ours didn't go out until they were eight months. Various reasons - they were June kittens, so were of an age to go out in winter, when it was dark, and they're mostly black; and we were trying to keep them as indoor cats, but they weren't in agreement.

I also thought that if they didn't go out until they were neutered, they might establish a smaller territory than if they'd gone out when they were intact. They're boys though; I don't know if the intact=wandering thing is true of girls.

They don't go very far at first. :)

We kept ours indoors until they were 9 months old. They were also June kittens and we knew we'd be worried about them in the winter because it got dark early.

Also, we had ours spayed at 12 weeks! They came from the RSPCA and would have been DONE prior to that in the RSPCA, but one of their brothers had flu, so we had them done once we got them home.

Be aware that females CAN come into season at 4 months of age, so it might be an idea to keep them in for a while longer, at least until after their operation.

well, they went out for about 5 mins in the back garden today.

They did not want to come in Hmm

Elle - am getting them spayed by the RSPCA in about 4wks. They will also micro chip them at the same time Smile

TBH I think I will only let them out in garden while I am out with them iyswim until they have been "done"

Simpson unless you have them on a lead - when they decide to go they will go and you wont be able to stop them. Personally i wouldn't let them out till they have been done.
When you decide to let them out start doing it first thing in the morning before food or in the afternoon before food.

one of the kitties escaped today Blush and I had a bit of a nightmare getting her in so I have decided they are not going out till they have been spayed....
