She got back from the cattery this morning & has yowled round the house every since

She has yowled so much her voice is fading away

Can I give her anything? I can't see her licking honey or anything like that

Poor thing. My cat sounds a bit like that when he's been out in the rain all night (his choice - idiot). Usually after a meal, a day sleeping in the sunshine and a tummy tickle his voice is back to normal. Hopefully after a night at home with mum and a couple of good meals with wet food you should find she's back to normal. She probably yowled a fair amount at the cattery so throat is a bit sore but it will come back.

She sounds even worse now

Poor puss

Feliway - if you have any. It won't help her voice but might calm her.

KatyMac · 30/08/2010 21:41

Feliway is constantly on (costing us a fortune)

She was re-homed here in Feb, long weekend at the cattery at Easter, then her sister died in June

Poor puss

She may do better with a pet sitter if you have inebear you. A few of my cat clients have come to me because they can't cope with a cattery and they do fine at home. A good cat sitter should be insured - tends to sort out the ones taking a professional approach.

One near I mean

How is she this morning? Voice any better?

KatyMac · 31/08/2010 15:38

She is very quiet and sleepy

Recovering? Just let her sleep then. Maybe she will be better after a day back with you. She obviously loves you very much and hopefully she will settle down completely in another day or so of normal goings on in the house.

She is all calmed down but her voice still sounds scratchy

But she is happy

Hooray!!

My cat lost her voice about 7 years ago. She can't meow anymore. She's fine and very happy but it always makes me smile when she 'Wheezes' out the window at birds.
