Dryrobes..

So my husband would like a dry robe type coat for when surfing etc at the beach.
He's not bothered about a label, so wondering if Dryrobes are indeed the best or whether others may have recommendations for alternative, possibly cheaper versions? Thanks

Hi I've recently bought one for sea swimming. It's great. I bought it from Mountain warehouse for about £50 because I had to buy a child's one! The adult ones are around £70 and you can either go for a microfibre towel lining or a fleece lining. They are big enough so you can get changed underneath.

I saw some in Primark the other day, not sure about quality but worth a look.

I've got an original DryRobe. Expensive but worth every single penny. As well as sea swims, I've used it for walking the dog, watching kids footy etc. Very warm even though it's big enough to get changed in.

Many of the cheaper ones are short, narrow, and thin compared to the original dryrobes. I have a few different types (I swim outside all year round and we've accumulated a few as an outdoorsy family. I have a Charlie McLeod (most like a Dryrobe with a sherpa lining), a Smoc Smoc half zip (waterproof outer, long, bamboo towelling lining), a ByBettyBlue (gorgeous print, not waterproof or windproof), and towelling DryRobe.
I like my Smoc Smoc best in the winter as although its not a snuggly robe like a Dry Robe, it is incredibly windproof and a great length. For a man surfing, I'd go for a DryRobe tbh
