Walking boots for narrow feet?

I have very narrow feet (size 5) and a high instep.

I generally struggle to find footwear to fit, and I’d usually wear trainers for walking. But I’ve agreed with a friend to join her on a (leisurely) three day hike next week, as the person due to accompany her dropped out due to the weather.
We’ll be in northwest England, so hot, but not as bad as the south.

Anyone have any recommendations for lightweight hiking boots, not too hot, with a deep but narrow fit?
I have a week to buy them and break them in.

@Ramekin Did you find any suitable boots or are you making do?
I have narrow feet and am struggling too.

Hi @TherebytheGraceofGodgoI

I did find some by basically trying on all the stock in the hiking shop!

They are called Trespass Fell. They don’t have ankle support though.

Hope that helps!

If you can find them you could try altbergs on the A-forme last. They have a shop in Richmond, north Yorkshire and sell through several retailers. They are expensive compared to many others but i was going through a pair of socks per walk from rubbing in the heel, so now I feel like I'm saving money!

I'm on my second pair of karrimore boots. Initially I went to a shop with many brands and we found this one fitted my narrow flat feed.

I’ve had good success recently with Merrells, though had to try on absolutely loads in an outdoor store to find them.

As a side note: I recently discovered that my narrow fit trainer holy grail brand is Asics, if I go up a size.

La Sportiva is a good brand for narrow feet - particularly if you have narrow heels that slip around in other boots.

My feet are an 8AA and I live in couple of pairs of Salomon hiking trainers.

@WhiteSandyBeach I have narrow feet too and my trainer go to is ON original cloud shoes. With laces not the elastic.

Will look at asics for a change next time.

Thanks all, some brands for me to look for. I always end up with blisters on my toes as they move about even if I tie the ankle firm. I’m an AA fitting and only buy footwear from specialist shops on line, but they don’t do decent walking shoes/boots.

I was also going to suggest La Sportiva - I bought some a few years ago and the sales person said I had 'Italian feet' rather than 'German feet' meaning that the Italian brands tended to be narrower. They were very comfy! I have also found some Salomons fit well, but some are too wide - it's trial and error really.

DD and DH have super narrow feet and swear by Salomon for walking boots and trainers. DD2 has narrow feet and narrow heels, and loves her La Sportiva ones.

My friend and I basically have opposite feet I’m high arch and narrow, she’s wide and low arch, find yourself a buddy like that to go shopping with 😂😂 cuts down your trying on time in half!! Agree with the above and add in some berghaus can be good for narrow feet too. Also APL seem to suit narrow feet, pain in the arse to get on if you have a high arch though s as that pushes the top of your foot up too, I find.

I eventually bought saloman boots, very expensive but fit so well. Merrels fit fairly well too, I have shoes for general walking
