Any ideas how to motivate my 12 year old boy away from PS4 and to come and do things with me and maybe or puppy dog. Or should I let him be he’s 13 in November and his friends are at school football or online not much in person?

At 12, I would let him have time on his Ps4 but still insist that he takes regular breaks. If you take your dog out, I would make him go with you. If you visit family, insist he goes etc. If you stay in for the day, make him have breaks where he does other things, maybe watch a film together or play with the dog. He's at the age though where consoles and online friends become important so I wouldn't fight against it to much.

Teach self regulation.
Start a negotiation. How much time a day does he want to spend online?
How much do you want to limit him to?
What else would he like to do?
What do you want him to do?

Work together on the time allowance- be prepared to give a Little so he feels like he’s won.

Thank you both for your replies. I agree setting boundaries but making him feel like he is getting his way works best. As he really likes this activity I think it’s best to use it to benefit an outcome that suits the whole family including our new puppy. Smile

Career change
I’m just over 50 and a Sports Centre Manager with lots of transferable skills and over 20 years mgt experience. Its a good job that’s flexible but it may come to an end anytime next year. This is due to flats being built. I’m looking for a change in carreer and wondered if there was a way of finding out what job would be best based on skills and interests. Any ideas suggestions would welcome. Thanks Star
