Backpack baby carrier for adult with scrawny shoulders?!

Hi, can anyone recommend a backpack baby carrier which is comfy for someone with not so much padding in the shoulder department please?
I'm pretty strong & have fairly broad shoulders, but when I used a Macpac Possum with my DD I found it very sore on my shoulders once she got to about 1. I ended up padding out the straps with flannels, but it still wasn't great.

DS is 4 months & I'd like to find something second hand ready for when he's big enough (soon, as his legs are already obstructing mine in a front carrier!) so we can continue our cross country dog walks.

Oh I should also add that I'm tall (5'10") with a long torso & dh is even taller 6'5" & we'd prefer a structured carrier so that it can be set down (doesn't have to be freestanding though) with DS in it.

Obviously needs to be comfy for DS too or there's no blimmin point! Grin

TBH, dh and I both found that the structured carriers just weren't comfortable to use (I'm 5'9, he's 6'3) as they didn't have the right back length, which then messed up the waist belt/straps relationship.

We used meitais (babyhawk then toddlerhawk) with xl straps till ds was 4, and found it really comfortable and nothing to adjust between using it on either of us. The centre of gravity was much better too as they are close to you.

Thanks CMOTDibbler, will have a look into meitais. (love your username! My dh got me into reading TP books, they're great!)

I used Rose & Rebellion carriers (baby size then toddler size). Used the baby size on my back from about 4-5 months and the toddler size still fits DS1 now at 4 years.
