Pushchairs at a festival

We are off to two festivals this year and I'm in a pram quandary.
We have a tatty 2nd hand maclaren with tiny wheels and a posh icandy strawberry with great big outdoor wheels at bank and silly wheels at front. DD is 20 months and will do lots of walking, but also gets tired so buggy will be used.
Which one should I take? Or should I be a lush and try to get a 2nd hand festival friendly pram with 4 decent wheels?! If so, what?!

Thanks - I have seen some festivals hire baby carts, with covers and padding etc, need to see if they are at ours Grin

Definitely hire a cart/trolley and take some cushions. Trolley useful for lugging stuff from the car to campsite anyway, and you can use it to dump your stuff in, whilst DD can use it to sit/nap in when tired.

If the festival isn't hiring them out and you have room in your car, scour eBay for one.

Some friends used their trusty phil&teds double at Glasto in 2011 (was a boggy year!)
And I took a running buggy that I bought on ebay for £20. It's got large bicycle type wheels, light to push but bit of a pig to fold, compact it ain't!
I'd definitely consider a sling/back carrier though.

Mountain buggy? You can get decent ones from Ebay quite cheap if youre not bothered about getting the latest model.

Mountain buggy! That's what they are called! Smile brain gone!
Yes, will look for one of those I think

I saw one in the park a while ago - with a large toddler blissfully sleeping away and all loaded up with play kit - how fab I thought, how fab!

We used a bike trailer at Glastonbury last year, after DS1' s Wonder Wagon got stuck in the mud once too often in 2011.

It was about 60 quid on ebay, held 2 children comfortably, went through the mud with no real problems and had a bit of room at the back to store blankets/drinks/potty/nappies and all the other assorted paraphernalia that goes with small children.
