Rules as before - nature 'spots' fauna and flora, points for rarity (absolute or relative to where seen), seasonality, eloquence of description. Please declare if you're in forrin parts or a mermaid.

Did I cover everything?

OP posts:
Slubberdegullion · 04/04/2012 11:55

I liked 'swelling crop buds' [saucy]

Yours almost rhymed a bit Ariel.

Nowt here today. Even my garden is barren. Nature is obviously saving itself up for a smorgasbord of spots while I am on the Lleyn next week.

Thingiebob · 04/04/2012 11:56

Pheasant and a couple of waddling grouse.

iseenodust · 04/04/2012 11:57

Thinks there might be a wooden spoon as well as certificates....

Dashing rain
flooded drain
ducks swim in road
no sign of toad

Northey · 04/04/2012 12:00

Ooh, faux-naïf, dusty. I like it.

iseenodust · 04/04/2012 12:02

Oooooh high praise from the Outdoorsy poet in residence feel 10 again.

Northey · 04/04/2012 12:23

A hint of John Clare, perhaps.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 04/04/2012 13:54

It was assonance, Slubber

Slubberdegullion · 04/04/2012 14:37

Yes of course assonance. Silly me.

blardy poncey mermaids and their wordy ways

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 04/04/2012 15:03
Grin

So it's rhyming gone wrong? Have you seen Educatin Rita?

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 04/04/2012 15:03

That's Educating with a g obviously.

violetwellies · 04/04/2012 15:49

Several sightings of the common brown bobble hat, and loads more weather Dp on nights, late home as road closed due to snow. No snow here but water on scullery floor, probably came in the rotten window frame
I did see a cockerel blown onto his bum this morning everything else appears to have blown away :)

DeepThought · 04/04/2012 15:54

arf at cockerel bum incident

a pair of Bullfinches lofted heavenwards by the gales this morning in my garden; I was glad because they were nicking apple blossom buds. FECK ORF

Slubberdegullion · 04/04/2012 16:27

Bastard theiving bull finches

I properly laughed at chicken on arse incident.

Ariel not for an age. With Julie Walters?

violetwellies · 04/04/2012 20:57

Can You eat it? (Rainbow cake ), How do you get cakes to be cake shape? I made a delicious carrot cake today, sadly looks like Crumbs. Will probably have to eat it with custard

Selks · 04/04/2012 21:59

Saw a very handsome male (I think) fox yesterday, in the middle of London. Always seem to see them when I go down there, but have never seen one where I live despite it being very rural. Maybe they're more timid in rural areas or something.

violetwellies · 05/04/2012 10:26

Cock black birds fighting & Mrs Rabbit with Flopsy, Mopsy& Cottontail were the view Rom the loo this morning Grin Then when I was topping up the colts water a skein of Canada geese came over which was lovely, not so lovely for whoever's field they land on. I missed the gang of passarines that failed to show up at hen feeding time.

violetwellies · 05/04/2012 10:27

From the loo

iseenodust · 05/04/2012 11:02

Violet the thread title and your posting location has me picturing a tumbledown hut with door that doesn't close properly...I do not conjure up the picture beyond that Grin
