Dog stung by a wasp

I was about to enter my driveway from a dog walk this morning when my Ddog let out a yelp and twisted her neck round to her back. I saw a wasp and shooed it away. Ddog was too upset to have her normal post walk drink and was shaking as inspected, whilst trying to reach her back. I asked DH to get me an ice cube which I gently rubbed along a big circle around where I thought the wasp had been and this calmed her enough to drink out of her portable water bowl. have given her a little bit of lunch and she’s currently sparko on the kitchen tiled floor (not unusual behaviour after lunch TBH).

Is there anything else I need to do?

I used Superdrug insect bite cream on mine.

Is that OK? I googled it and it said not to use non-canine medicine.

Sounds like she’s fine so I would just keep an eye. DDog got stung once on the nose and her whole snout swelled up, it looked hilarious! She was unbothered by her dramatic appearance Grin

My mums dog is allergic to bees he has a loratadine based antihistamine after a sting not the other other one begining with a c that one's not safe for dogs
He's a big male lab probably about 30kg and gets 1 tablet

You do need to speak to your vet before giving anything but may be worth a rummage in the cupboard to see if you have any just incase

Mum spends a fortune on her dogs at the vet and they recommended she just buy them over the counter without saying it's for a dog

Both my dogs were stung last week. One tore out a chunk of his long coat in a panic but was then fine. The other was much braver but looked really sad as if she thought it was some kind of punishment (she’s had a complicated life). They were both absolutely fine after the initial shock.
I hope your girl is over it now.

Thanks for your responses. She’s behaved in an odd manner tonight ie she normally loafs around on our sofa snuggling up for cuddles but she’s been asleep in her basket instead. She could be cold, though, as she had the doggy version of a No 1 on Monday at the groomers.
