Choosing doggy daycare

Hi there,

I will need doggy daycare for my 20 week old puppy. Locally there is two options and I just can't choose.

One is 5 licensed, running for 5 years. Does drop off and pick up locally and has max 6 dogs with the owner. 2.5 acres of land. Mix of different age and breed dogs. Looks more worn but it's got dogs everyday and been running. Has 5 5 reviews and has a space just come available (didn't when I enquired when I got the puppy)

The other has 5 acres, similar distance but pick up and drop off covers further afield so he would be in van slightly longer. Brand new- opened month ago. Looks lovely and new. Takes 8 dogs between 2 people. Mix of dogs but a lot of younger dogs joining as recently opened.

My boy is a basset hound so not exactly bundles of energy and enjoys a lot of sniffing around and wandering rather than sprinting and jumping about so far. Both has assigned nap areas for younger dogs.

What would you choose?

Also to add new one is £10 a day more which is a factor as he will be going two days a week

I would go with the well established one. Nearer home is better and they will be more experienced.

Go and look at both, you'll get a feeling that way.

The established one.

A good daycare should offer a free/minimal cost trial session. I’d book those and see which setting my dog was happiest coming out of

I have booked free trials for both so we shall see... So hard to know!
