Trying to keep my dog cool in this heat. Any tips I haven’t tried?

We’ve been going out at 7am and she’s swimming in the river. Thing is, she’s hot and panting in an hour and dried off.

I’m home with her and the curtains and blinds are closed. Fan going. If I try and spray her with water ( mist) or a shower she practically has a breakdown!

How do I keep her cool if she hates water? ( obviously loves the river though 🙄)

Put fans at floor level
Give your dogs the run of the house of the garden if there are shady areas, cool mats, ice cubes in water etc

@Tiddlywinks63 That's a good idea, putting the fan at floor level. I'll do that tonight when she goes up. I have a bowl of water in front and put a frozen ice pack in to try and keep it cool for longer. What about getting her damp before bed, would that cause issues with her skin?
One other thing I've thought about doing is propping her crate up a bit, one side is next to a rug which would lift one end, and then the other put some more frozen ice packs underneath to give a cool floor to sleep on. At least, cool enough to be a bit more comfortable to fall asleep. When she sleeps on the slate hearth before this heatwave and I've picked her up to take her up for naps she is very cool on the side she is lying on, so I thought this might be similar.

I’m hosing mine off with garden hose every few hours or you could sponge them off instead with really cold water all of their body, head and ears.

I’ve got fans on full blast pointing at them and they seem comfortable.

i also hold cold ice packs on them throughout the day and put towels in the freezer which then go on top of their beds

We've freeze bottles and wrap a towel round um and they lay by um
