Has anyone raised 2 cockapoo female puppies from the same breeder but the puppies have different mums and are 5 days apart in age, I’ve only ever done 2 brothers as puppies not females, just wondering about when they go through their transition to adulthood years, and any would be problems. Any tips would be welcome.

Sounds like it could be a puppy farm. Have you committed to buying them? I’d be concerned about their health and general welfare etc.

It doesn't matter that they are from different mums they don't understand that
What they'll know is growing up with the other litter and going home together to yours and having always been with each other

You are risking them being too reliant on each other that close in age, one bossing the other around too much ect and quite frankly I don't know any good breeders who would let you have two from litters so close in age

It's also not normal that they have two litters basically born at the same time
I've know it happen occasionally with good breeders but it's the exception not the rule

I've never had two from the same litter but a couple of people in the town have and one pair can't be walked separately with one being super fearful and the other a bully to his sibling and others
The other pair are mostly ok but can't be apart

My bitch was a hormonal wreck going through her first season I can't imagine anything worse than having 2 going through it at the same time

My tip? Walk away as fast as you can. You are 100% about to buy from a puppy farm

2 puppies? No decent breeder would even consider letting you take two
From different mothers, five days apart?
You could literally see the red flags from

Tip?

Don't support animal abuse. Which is precisely what you're about to do if you proceed with buying these dogs.

Rarely does a good breeder has two litters in a year (personally, I don't know any) let alone two at the same time.

Get your forehead checked OP, the 'breeder' (scum-bag puppy farmer in the term traditionally used around here) saw you coming a mile away.

Vet nurse here, this has the potential for disaster .
Nothing would tempt me , also if these pups are from a puppy farm all you are doing is creating a gap/gaps to be filled with more pups.
I agree with pp no decent breeder would advise you having 2 pups.
If people stopped buying from these places the trade would drastically reduce , best case end all together but that sadly is unlikely.
Google litter mate syndrome.

@MyMerryHelper

why did you feel the need to start a new thread - this one isn't full...

Glitchymn1 · 22/06/2026 19:44

When I got my pup, one of the owners wanted two pups from the same litter. The breeder said absolutely not.
15 months on her dog is having her second and final litter and the same couple asked if they could have a pup and the breeder has said no again.
It would be easy money for the breeder but there are reasons why they don’t recommend it.

Run away from this puppy farmer and do some proper research before you get anything.
