What dog would you recommend for me?

Inspired by another thread, from the profile below what dog breed/s would you recommend for me? Currently a corgi servant, but interested in other ideas/inspiration for my day dreams where I just have a lot of dogs.

Early thirties, relatively fit, three bed terrace with small garden, wfh most of the time but out for 1/2 seven hour office days a week. Many relatives available to dog sit, but do like to pop out for lunches/drinks with and without dogs for a few hours at a time. Happy to walk for about an hour a day, too anxious to ever let a dog off lead. Probably too soft to train anyone stubborn. Previous experience of Yorkshire terriers, Staffys, collies. Love the look of Irish wolf hounds, borzois, silken windhounds, enormous or unusual dogs in general. Absolutely no tiny dogs, pugs, French bull dogs or anything that struggles to breath.

please inspire me, and I’ll update my dream dog list for the rest of my life accordingly

Adopt a greyhound! They sleep most of the time, professional sofa enthusiasts. A couple of gentle walks a day are all they need, and no need for a big garden - they’re a lazy breed believe it or not. I’d not advise leaving any dog alone for 7 hours a day, even if it is only 2 days a week so do ensure you have a sitter/walker for these days. Greyhounds also tend to have poor recall as most are ex-racers and recall is never taught so no need to be confident letting them off lead. And obviously, they’re pretty big.

I adopted my now 10yo greyhound a year ago and he’s amazing, DD and I love him so much. He’s 38kg so a big lad but no trouble at all, never barks, super friendly with dogs and people but does like to stare at cats like he’s possessed.

there’s so many needing a home, please consider one! Pic of Pickle for the pet tax!

There is a guy on Instagram,, Facebook etc called Cherry Hogs who trains dogs and he advises against hound dogs as he thinks they are the hardest to train and that owners mostly can't provide them with what they need. Check him out - he is a bit rude and swears a lot but he gives quite decent advice, I think. I have a Bernese Mountain Dog - very happy to snooze for anout 16 hours a day, though they like company tbf.

@mybathistoohot oh the current hound isn’t left for a full day, he goes off to his grandparents to be spoilt rotten and fed fresh roasted meat…Pickle is gorgeous and greyhounds are definitely going on the list. I had no idea they weighed so much though!!

Well they do have a lot of hair but I just brush - I don't bathe them (I am on no 4 and stopped shampooing them at no 2 as he was highly allergic).

I would recommend a mini schnauzer. Don’t shed but you do have to get them groomed.

easy to train and intelligent. An hour a day is fine although they’ll happily go longer. Can leave them but they’re very affectionate.

can be yappy. My big dog only barks at the door and little dog only barks if big dog starts and is generally a bit confused why he is barking (they are clever really!).

If you after a dog that just wants to hang out with you, I would go for a Tibetan Terrier. Plenty of personality with a happy-go-lucky attitude to life.
They are not a terrier as the name would suggest but classified as utility dog. But having owned them for the last 20 years, I would firmly put them in the class clown category!
Only downside for you might be their regular grooming requirements- a Tibetan in full coat is stunning! But it's wise to keep them clipped to keep things simple.
