What are people using to wash dog toys in the machine?
I saw you can use Dylon but unsure

Wash them?!

Wish they lasted long enough!!! Although even if they did, I’d just scrub them with water and a small amount of soap. No need for anything fancy and I definitely wouldn’t risk my washing machine for them 😮

I just use our normal one - currently Persil Colour. Have done for years with no issues.

My small dog only has soft toys so I think my washing machine can take it

I chuck them in the machine in one of those large net bags.
Just use ordinary washing liquid.
Short wash and lowish spin.
She's not got much interest in toys these days - was never big on them - but getting old 😢

TheHungryHungryLandsharks · 01/03/2026 09:31

@ThatNattyPlayer as long as there’s no rips in the toys - if the stuffing gets into the machine it can cause so much damage (my mother tried to wash her cockers toys and ended up replacing the machine!)

ThatNattyPlayer · 01/03/2026 09:33

I will use a net bag to wash them, was worried about using regular pods as the pup has a very sensitive stomach

Just use normal washing detergent and i put in a squrt of white vinegar it neutralises the smell. My dog just has ropes soft toys never last but i wash his rope toys .

SirChenjins · 01/03/2026 09:36

Gosh, I hadn't ever thought of washing Chendog's toys - I probably should. I'd just use my regular powder and run it through a wool wash with an extra rinse.

I wash our dog's many toys and also put her snuffle mat in (she eats her kibble off it), so I use an eco-egg. If the toys are very grubby I use a little eco-laundry liquid and an extra rinse, but the eco egg is usually enough.

jeaux90 · 05/03/2026 07:19

I use Faith in Nature but also a small bit of the detol laundry liquid
