Easily attachable lead?

We are starting to lead train our 11 week old Lab puppy. Like most puppies she gets very excited and the lead goes straight into her mouth. We’ve been given what I think is excellent advice ( from a Guide Dog trainer) to use a treat to distract her, give the command ‘wait’ and then clip the lead on just for a second, treat and remove. Then gradually build up the time in small steps. The issue is that the collar and lead we’ve got ( from the puppy section in Pets At Home) is really fiddly to attach. We need something that’s quick and easy to clip on. Any ideas?

I would just use a chain lead.

I think all puppy collars are fiddly, because they are so small.

I'd switch to a harness.

What's a chain lead? Do you mean a choke chain?

No, as in a metal lead so the puppy doesn’t want to chew it.

I'd also switch to a harness. Any trigger clip lead should be fairly easy to attach.
I use a snap-lock carabiner after a trigger clip failed - pretty rare I would think but feel safer with the carabiner - but it is a bit more tricky to attach to harness.
I do have a lead from PatH with an awful attachment so I know what you mean.

We do have a chain lead given to us by our nephew so will try this next.
