I have a beautiful 11.5 year old French bulldog. Her appetite has completely deteriorated over the last 8 weeks, I’m lucky if I can get a spoonful of natural yoghurt in her every 2 days (don’t come for me, it’s all she’ll have and I’ve tried everything). She has this huge bulge on her left side when you look at her from above. She doesn’t want to be handled any more. She doesn’t want to walk. She’s messing in the kitchen and in her bed most nights. She can barely get out of bed as her back legs are so weak. Writing this out I know what I need to do, but what if it’s too soon? The vets have said it’s to be expected as she’s a senior dog, she can have tests and scans etc, but is it even worth putting her through it at this stage? How do you know when to make the decision? I love her so much.
