Possible Cushings -to treat or not

I am not a dog owner, so hoping for wisdom on here. DP has a 9yo bulldog. The dog sleeps a lot and is very bad tempered -has to be heavily sedated to see the vet.
A friend who saw a video I posted of their dog commented on very threadbare hair pattern that she said could be symptomatic of Cushings.
Given b that this dog is nightmare to give any form of intervention, and the vet insists on sedation and a muzzle for consultation, is it B worth doing the investigations? Would the dog be in pain? Grateful for any insights.

I'd start with a telephone appointment with a vet to discuss the dog's symptoms and take it from there.
Lethargy and being 'bad tempered' could also be symptoms of an underlying illness.

I had a dog that was very reactive at the vets. He had to be muzzled and brought in through a rear door to avoid the waiting room. It was stressful for both of us, but not a reason to leave him suffering when he was poorly.

Is he on steroids?

My Border Terrier had Cushings. It’s basically an overload of cortisol so he was permanently wired. His main symptom was darker skin on his belly and legs and excessive thirst, which then resulted in excessive urination. He don’t have it but hair loss is a common symptom. When we got his meds right he was a different dog and his drinking returned to normal and his darkened skin cleared up. It does take regular tests at the vets though to check the meds are working and at the right level, and to diagnose he had to have a fasting blood then eat then a second blood a couple of hours later.

Is he on steroids?

Thanks -no she isn’t. Doesn’t have excessive thirst or urination. Good idea about phone consultation first /thank you!
