Foster dog with some issues I would like some help with

I haven’t had involvement with fostering for over 10 years now so I’m hoping someone can offer some advice to see if I can help.
small dog, possible 3-4 years old. From day 1 she has licked her paws all of them. Vet has said it could be anxiety, not medical. She has been at home with me now for over 4 weeks and we have had a very calm settling in period.

she has started to show more of her personality now, grown in confidence and trust which is lovely to see, still with the paw licking?

then the new issue I also have is the TV. I don’t have it on very often but if it’s on and any type of animal appears she goes berserk, leaping from her bed to jump up at the tv, strutting around the living room searching for it.

I’ve tried distraction, rewarding not reacting and anything else I thought might work, it’s getting worse instead of better?

Has she had her teeth checked? Ddogs can try and transfer pain. Teeth to paws..
Or a replacement? Kong or tasty item?
Some pet shops sell absolutely every part imaginable.. And some you'd rather not have on your flooring!!

What is she fed? The licking could be caused by an allergy.

I would explore the possibility of an allergic reaction for the paw licking and try clicker training for the TV barking

The licking sounds like an allergy - what is she fed? Chicken and grains are common triggers but really it could be anything.

The other sounds behavioural and you’d need to desensitise her to the sight and sound of the animals over time - there was an episode of Victoria Stilwell recently where a Frenchie had a similar issue - it might be worth looking up as her techniques were quite successful.

My dog licks his feet if he eats chicken, it’s stopped completely now we’ve cut it out.

The tv thing you’d have to slowly desensitise, high value treats and build up to animals on the telly, only reward when he ignores or calms down.

I have recently adopted a dog from a shelter. He licked and chewed his paws furiously from the first day. Initially, I thought it was stress and anxiety as he has had a difficult start in life and was not coping in the rescue centre. I also worked my way through a few suggestions, including changing his diet, without success. Finally, I came across Omni Rescue Irritated Skin remedy. It comes in the form of a soft tasty pellet, which is given once a day. It can also be crumbled onto food by my dog thinks it's a treat. I was not expecting miracles as it was so entrenched but within a week he simply stopped chewing his feet! It was such a relief to see him calm and settled in the evening. Maybe this would help?
