Cavalier King Charles - autism / hayfever

Hi. We are planning on having a family dog and we’re all very excited.

One of our daughters is autistic and from research this breed seems to be a suitable option (we only want a small dog).

does anyone have experience of how much they affect hayfever which my DH has?

are they noisy dogs?

thank you.

No, nothing to apologise for. They were both rude. 👍🏻

I don't think I was that rude really, and you are making yourself look really stupid now 😂
But whatever, I have a pup to feed so I'm off.

If you can compromise on size there is no better dog than a Labrador. Our first dog was a lab, so easy to train, calm in the house and brilliant with children. We went for a smaller breed (cocker spaniel) for our second dog and now we live with a hooligan 🤣🤣. It’s fine for us as we are in the country and have acres of land for her to run around, I can’t imagine having a spaniel in a limited space, although I believe cavaliers are a little more sedentary. My child is autistic and dog and child have very little interest in each other.

Nah, you’re the rude one - accusing people of things and refusing to apologise when you got it wrong.

Does eating nuts impact your DH’s hay fever?

Dogs are a totally different allergen to pollen so no it won’t impact your DH’s hay fever. If he’s allergic to dogs though it’ll have a huge impact on his wellbeing.

If he’s going to be the one walking the dog then it’s likely to impact his hay fever when he’s out walking the dog, particularly if you’re taking the dog to fields etc.

It was me who mentioned the cushion and not @CoubousAndTourmaIet .
She was not rude at all. If I was then I apologise, but still think that the OP is worded in a way that makes it sounds as though the OP is trying to minimise the effect of having a dog in the house before she even has a dog. To me that's a worrying starting point for anyone planning to adopt a dog. Again, if I have all this wrong then I apologise.

I did ask some practical questions of the OP so that we could help her with her question, but she didn't answer.

I have little experience of hayfever and none of Cavalier KC spaniels but We are a ND household and our Black Lab is fantastic with our kids.
the saying goes that Labs are Born half trained And spaniels die half trained

but if you have the time and can find the right one then those spaniels are gorgeous with a lovely temperament.

Our lab is a softie and we bought him from a breeder known to our family so knew likely temperament already.

id highly recommend a working lab as a family pet.
