So many what ifs and I know the answer is just to wait and see. But X-rays of my gorgeous boy show a broken/crumbling bone and if anyone can share any tips/advice please I would be so grateful-

how to help him recover from the anaesthetic

what is chemo like for dogs

how to possibly prepare for losing a front leg

He is honestly the happiest most easy going dog you could ever meet.

So sorry to hear, OP.
What age is he?

TheBestDogEver · 07/06/2025 16:03

He’s five. And apart from this he is very healthy, not overweight.

Oh no. I was hoping you were going to say he was an old dog.
They tend to recover from anaesthetic quite quickly. Just keep him quiet for a few days.
I don't know about chemo sorry.
There are a few options if he does lose his leg, especially if part of it can be saved.
I'm sorry you're going through this and wish you both the best of luck.

Thank you. He is just the best dog, I know I’m biased, but he loves everyone and everyone loves him back. You wouldn’t think there was anything at all wrong with him. I’ve got a painkiller schedule set up for him because I worry he could be in pain and not show it. Just want to do the absolute best for him.
