SBT female - 9 weeks.
I’m looking at lily’s kitchen. Not fussy on raw feeding, (happy to cook meat and veg but have no idea what I’m doing to ensure a balanced diet.)

Currently has purina pro plan puppy kibble but isn’t fussy on it. I’ve been topping food with mackerel, tuna and salmon and today a pork sausage- not the best I appreciate. She is very small and not at all fussy on the kibble.

Please give me suggestions that will support bone and joint health if possible.

TIA

Have a look on allaboutdogfood website

There are so many good and not so good foods out there
Some suit one dog more than another
It depends on your budget and I have found most importantly being able to source the food.
I was previously using a different brand that was out of stock for so long in my area it forced me to change.

Agree with previous poster all about dog food is a great resource for checking out different brands

I currently feed wildways from pets
Pup is on 80% nutritional rating puppy food chicken based.
My older girl has the adult fish of the same brand
Both have fresh fruit, veg and meats added daily depending on what I have in.
Unfortunately they don't do the big sacks of the fish so I will be moving both onto the Buffalo and beef in the big sacks once he's older as only 6 months

Mine is on Pooch and Mutt (sensitive digestion, fish based) after a few unfortunate attempts with other food. I'm not sure it's the best, but it doesn't upset her.

Bit of a shock as the older dog always had a cast-iron digestion.

Thank you, I’ll have a look. 🤗

Millie's Wolfheart is great and they are really responsive and will talk to you by email or phone to advise. Mine then has Forthglade or Lily's Kitchen as toppers, and I'm going to trial the Millie's wet food cans too. If yours is happy to eat kibble Millie's is a good bet for quality. Not cheap, but you tend to get what you pay for with dog food.

Ours have always been on raw food and their digestion is great. Nature’s Choice I think? Both very healthy - older one is 6yo and puppy is 7 months. He’s on the puppy version as it has more calories apparently .

I second pooch and mutt - my dog is on the adult version and it suits him and he has quite a sensitive tummy

James Wellbeloved, Harringtons and Lily’s kitchen are ones we like too

I agree with previous posters that all about dog food is a fantastic resource. Decide on your budget and then chose the best rated food within that budget.

Be aware that SBTs are prone to skin issues that can be exasperated by food. I'd stick to novel proteins and grain free. Adding salmon oil daily is good too.

I think it’s very much trial and error. What works best for one may not work for another (as evidenced by mine all eating different foods). Personally I think a combination of biscuits and wet (good wet food - not tinned) can never be beaten

Twatdog has butternut box and Lily’s kitchen - and I’ve never seen a dog in better condition tbh. He constantly gets compliments about his coat and I go ‘oh yes he’s lovely’ (like he’s my own child) But if I try Pen on it, she gets a funny tummy sigh and weird crusty bits on her skin.
