Puppy/dog seat belts for back seat - any recommendations?

So Border Terrier pup is almost 5 months and weighs almost 3.5k now. Started off trying to put him in one of those car booster box things on back seat but he worked out how to climb out petty quickly often ending up straddling it 😳

Tried this seat belt

and he seemed slightly happier in it but had already managed to chew one plastic piece off. Worth adding that up to now he certain isn’t a fan of being in the car.

I’ve looked at this Kong equivalent but reviews say it doesn’t extend particularly long.

Can anyone recommend anything similar that will grow more so we get longer with it? And that may be more durable than we already have?

Im not looking at putting him in the front seat as he’s a fidget bum and WILL and yo trying to get into my lap. Crate on the boot also not an option as I need that for space for when we all go away with him!

I don’t think we have the isofix settings in the car for the 3 way harnesses.
So far he’s not loving car travel - he whines for first 5/10 mins, chews his belt like crazy then eventually settles and sometimes even has a doze. So we need something where he can sit or lie but not move too far on either direction.

TIA lovely dog peeps

The over-headrest ones seem to work better for us. My problem is the pup trying to get into the front seat rather than not being long enough. If yours is only tiny the Kong one might be fine?

Hello Bupster 😊 i guess he may be, I was just hoping not to need to spend ££ on 3 months because he’s got longer! But that ones definitely still for consideration. And mine also seems to want to get up front 😳

I use seatbelts that go round the head rest too. I found with the type you have, my dogs used to stand on the button and release themselves as I was driving along.

I’ve also started looking at the Kong Tether one that uses the Isofix as it looks like we have this in the back. It definitely looks more substantial with metal rather than plastic parts so hopefully less likely he’ll chew as quickly 😳 it’s more ££ but that’s to be expected I guess. That also has a strap that fixes over back of head rest.

Im just hoping that with time he’ll start to tolerate car travel more … we’re in for a loooooonh drive to the coast this year if not!

Thanks both for your replies btw x
