Neighbours dog got in our garden

My dog is dog ‘selective’, and feeling a bit under the weather today

This morning, we were in the garden and next doors dog snuck under the gate, into my garden with my dog (to be fair to them they’ve put blocks up, he just got past them 🙄)

Bit of a scrap ensued, managed to call off my boy and the NDN dog scrambled back into their garden - tail between legs

NDN and myself very apologetic to one another, both dogs ok, although the Terror is a bit subdued 😞

Should I be worried about repercussions? It’s not the first time he’s been a twat. Out on walks in the village we try where possible to avoid other dogs (as never know what his reaction will be)

Feel like a monster sometimes as it’s hard having a reactive dog, he absolutely adores people, but I worry what people must think (I heard from another neighbour who’s dog he does like! That someone said to her they wouldn’t trust him 😳 That hurts me 😞 they don’t know him or his history)

just getting it off my chest i guess 😞

Errr no, you've done nothing wrong here OP.
their dog got into your garden and invaded your dogs space.
It's entirely on them.
I wouldnt worry.

FlutteryButterfly · 30/03/2025 16:14

No, their dog got into your garden, end of! Worry not.

myplace · 30/03/2025 16:19

And your dog isn’t trustworthy in certain circumstances. That’s ok. He doesn’t have to be bombproof, and you know yourself he isn’t.

Mine isn’t either. He’s a champion 98% of the time and a stubborn opinionated twat the rest. He’s not aggressive, just embarrassing at greeting dogs he shouldn’t. They shouldn’t have to be bothered by him.

ExitPursuedByABare · 30/03/2025 16:21

Mine’s a twat. Always on lead. If other dogs get in his face that’s their problem not mine.

The dog that was out of control was not your dog. It was your neighbour's dog.

Hoppinggreen · 30/03/2025 16:24

Mine is a soppy doofus but I am pretty sure he would get into it with next doors dog if it managed to get over the fence
You did nothing wrong Op and neither did your dog

ZookeeperSE · 30/03/2025 16:28

Should I be worried about repercussions

Well, the dangerous dogs act now covers dangerously out of control dogs on private property (as well as the original ‘in public’). However, as the other dog broke into your private property I imagine it can be argued that it was their dog that was dangerously out of control - they certainly weren’t in control of it were they. I shouldn’t imagine you have much to worry about in that regard. Even a usually non reactive dog may not do well in that circumstance.

faerietales · 30/03/2025 20:39

Your neighbours are entirely at fault here - please don’t worry!

My Lhasa Apso starting had diarrhoea for a day or two. Then my hubby saw him struggling to poop & he had to help him & he got a round ball of hard poop from his anal passage it was brick hard & about the size of a golf ball. This is happening every couple of days but the balls are a lot smaller. Can anyone help us as we don’t know whats wrong with him. He’s 5yrs old. Thank you in advance. Xx💕

@GWMC

You need to start your own thread.

but actually just take your dog to the Vet.
