My pug is 12 and has stage 4 mast tumours and treatment has not worked and I've been advised to have him put down within a couple of weeks.
I know it's time but I just don't know how I'm going to decide exactly when. I'm with him practically 24 hours a day as I work from home.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated x

Aww this is so so hard. Nobody can call this for you, I do regret keeping my dog going longer than I should of in hindsight because I couldn’t bear letting him go.
just keep an eye on his quality of life and be very honest with yourself about it. Make sure he’s comfortable as dogs hide pain very well.
really sorry you’re going through this, sending lots of hugs xz

Sorry you're having to face this decision for your dog.
My vet recommended using a quality of life index to help me make that decision for my old girl.
Look up HHHHHMM

We had our lovely girl put down a few months ago. She'd lived with a tumour on her leg for more than a year but towards the end of her life really slowed down, was peeing indoors and sleeping a lot. We knew it was her time when she suddenly lay down to sleep and didn't have the energy to get up, eat, drink or even wag her tail. The deterioration was sudden and it became obvious that we couldn't let her go on . She died peacefully with family around her. I was stroking her head and talking to her as she slipped away. I think you will know when the time is right, and it will be a decision based in love. My heart goes out to you xx
